Why all the words?
Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God.
Your sins have been your downfall!
Take words with you and return to the LORD.
Say to him:
"Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously,
that we may offer the fruit of our lips."
(Hosea 14:1-2)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning....
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John 1:1-2,14)
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God
a sacrifice of praise -- the fruit of lips that confess his name.
(Hebrews 13:15-16)
