Christian Peacemaker Teams is an initiative among U.S. and Canadian churches committed to active peacemaking.
CPT prepares small teams to intervene in violent and militarized regions using active nonviolence. Full time teams are currently located in Baghdad, Iraq; Bogota, Colombia; and in the Hebron district of the Occupied West Bank. CPT also supports the Campaign for Secure Dwellings in Israel/Palestine.

One of Mary’s colleagues on the Hebron team, Jerry Levin, has published essays containing his own reflections on the situation in Hebron. Jerry was Cable News Network (CNN) Middle East Bureau Chief Lebanon in 1984, when he was kidnapped by extremists and became the first of the so-called forgotten American hostages. He has written a book entitled From The Inside Looking Out. You can find the essays and information about the book at http://www.cpt.org/hebron/levin/levin.htm.
