Now that the Groundhog is Old News, Get Ready for the Mussel Festival!
Recently, it's been getting a bit milder here on Whidbey Island, which leads to tempting thoughts of impending spring. For
a number of years now, the first big festival of the season here in Central Whidbey has been the Penn Cove Mussel Festival.
The first weekend in March will be a great time to take a fun trip up to Coupeville. Enjoy the educational and the fun exhibits
(sometimes they're the same ones!). Participate in the Mussel Tasting Walkabout. Stay at our little Inn and have at least
one meal right on premises at The Cove Thai Cuisine.
Here's a link for more information about the Mussel Festival:

Old Building, New Technology
A few years back, we came across a book called "The Victorian Internet", about the development of the telegraph
and its impact on society. The Inn at Penn Cove is and has been a place defined, in part, by its Victorian Buildings (the
Jenne House was built before Washington became a state!). But now, as 2008 winds down, we are putting up a new website, and
installing free wi-fi DSL for the use of our lodging guests at the hotel and the diners at the restaurant The Cove Thai Cuisine,
which occupies much of the first floor of the Jenne House. So, if you're looking for a good Thai meal in Coupeville and also
need to take your web-surfing device and do some connecting while you enjoy your meals, here's another option. And, of course,
even when you want a Victorian escapist get-away, sometimes your laptop needs to come with you so you can upload photos of
your vacation in real-time; now you can do all that from the comfort of your room at the hotel called the Inn at Penn Cove.
Please be our guests at this quiet meeting place of a venerable old building and the new technology.
