The kite to be used to hoist the PV2 camera is the Sutton Flowform 8. It was purchased from Into The Wind for $55 plus shipping. The Sutton 8 is an airfoil kite, that is, it has no rigid members (spars) and contains a number of cells that the wind flows through to lift the kite and its payload. Hopefully its eight square foot size will be sufficient to lift the camera, cradle, suspension, and hang-ups. The table below shows the individual weights for each of these components as well as the total weight.
