ENTRANCE PERMITS & FEES

 ENTRANCE PERMITS

BEFORE ENTERING SHADY GROVE CAMPGROUND, EVERYONE MUST REGISTER AND HANG AN ENTRANCE PERMIT ON HIS/HER VEHICLE'S REAR-VIEW MIRROR  regardless of the time of day or night you arrive or whether you have reservations or not.  EVERY VEHICLE must have an Entrance Permit on its rear-view mirror.  This is of utmost importance and the Permit must remain on the REAR-VIEW MIRROR at all times whether coming, going, or parked in the campground.   Anyone failing to do so may be asked to leave or be fined, banned, or towed from the premises.

SELF-SERVICE REGISTRATION

Registration is SELF-SERVICE and easily possible day or night.  All the materials are in a BOX to the right of the RED DOOR on the PORCH of the OFFICE.  The porch light is always on so visibility is never a problem.   Directions are posted on the wall above the box, but the procedure is fairly straight-forward.

The box contains registration envelopes, brochures, and pens.  Every numbered envelope contains an Entrance Permit with a corresponding number and each envelope must be filled out completely with your name, vehicle description, name of your site if you know it, number of guests in each vehicle, etc., etc.

FUSHIA envelopes are filled out by OVERNIGHT guests and bright YELLOW envelopes by DAY USE and RIVER ACCESS guests.   Fees and blanks are printed on the envelopes to help you figure out how much money to put in the envelope.  Take the Permit out, put your CASH OR CHECK ONLY in the envelope, seal it and put it through the mail slot in the red door.  THEN, HANG YOUR PERMIT ON YOUR REAR-VIEW MIRROR BEFORE YOU DRIVE DOWN THE HILL TO THE CAMPGROUND.  BEFORE, PLEASE!

In the case of  more than one vehicle in the same group where one person is going to pay for all camping fees, everyone in the group must still fill out an envelope regarding his vehicle and the number of persons in it, etc., but in the blank "Amount Sealed in Envelope", simply write the name of the group or the name of the site or the person paying for everyone and hang your Entrance Permit on your rear-view mirror, please.

If requested in plenty of time, a number of envelopes can be mailed to the organizer of a large group so that each driver can then fill out his envelope ahead of time and drop it through the mail slot upon his arrival at Shady Grove.

WHICH DO I OWE?  OVERNIGHT FEES OR SITE MINIMUMS?

For the first night, you owe EITHER your site minimum OR your overnight fees per person WHICHEVER IS MORE.  (It is NOT the site minimum PLUS your overnight fees, but you do not choose which you owe either.  You owe whichever is greater.)  If this seems confusing, the following may not help either, but give it a go anyway, please.

The site minimum is a consideration for the first night only.   For instance, the first night if your party is only one person at $5., then the site minimum of $10. is more so you owe the $10. site minimum.  The second night and all subsequent nights of that visit, you will owe only the $5. overnight fee for each night;
HOWEVER,  if there are three persons at $5. each the first night, then you owe the overnight fees of $15. for the first night because $15. is more than the $10. site minimum.  The second night and each night thereafter, etc., you will owe the $15. overnight fees.

Check-out time is 12 NOON.  You can pay DAY USE fees if you choose to stay later, but don't have enough time to spend another night.
