Praline Bakery and Bistro opened its doors on Sangamore Road in Bethesda, Maryland, in April 2006, the culmination of years of partnership and planning by co-owners Susan Limb and Patrick Musel, whose love of fine cuisine and talent for creating delectable pastries led them here. Together, they wanted to build a welcoming neighborhood place where people of all ages could gather for a good meal, a quality pastry, or coffee. Every day, we try our best to provide just that.
All of our pastries and desserts are made on the premises with the finest and purest ingredients we can find. In addition to cooking meals for the bistro each day, our chefs upstairs prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, and other savories for carryout or a quick bite in the bakery. Our traditional French baguette and other breads, the only items we do not make in-house, are delivered fresh each morning.
Praline offers a variety of baked goods daily, from breakfast pastries to special occasion desserts, such as wedding cakes, Thanksgiving pies, Christmas Yule Logs (Buche de Noel), Gallette des Rois (Kings’ Cake), and Valentine’s Day tarts. We hope you will find what you are looking for in our cases, but if you don’t, please ask us. We are happy to prepare something for a special event, to satisfy a craving, or simply to remind you of some place far away or long ago! If we can make it, we will.
