The Lines were a thinking-person's band. The music is 'new wave' with lyrics referencing, questioning, and poking fun at the culture of the time.
The band received critical and popular acclaim, playing on bills with such notables as Madonna, The Go-Gos, and The Ramones and getting top-10 airplay on college and new-wave radio stations.
The self-titled single was released in 1980 and the EP, Statues, was released in 1981. The title cut was written by LLW and Frank Doris. Both the single and EP received significant airplay in the U.S. and Europe.
