APRIL 17, 2004 DAY TRIP TO ECOLOGY AUTO WRECKING

It started out a rainy day so we decided to go to a wrecking yard to see what would be available on a typical trip.  We did pack tools incase we found somthing , but  we could not believe what we found.  A lot of the cars there were picked over and did not have much we could use, but we did find a 1972 Pinto Sedan that had damage to the front end and had a lot of surface rust, but the interior was great.  It also had a steering column that we needed for the V8 swap.

the find

Looks bad on the outside, but the inside is great.  It had a little over 85,000 original miles.

the take

Items we found include...
-steering column with flex shaft
- gage panel with clear plastic
- glove box liner
- side marker lights (Front and rear)
- Heater controls
- lower dash support with cover
- tail lights
- front turn signals
- door sill trim
- heater ducts

Here we are removing the gas tank so there will be no explosion here.
