March 5, 2006 - Speed bumps BAD!

Finally, we feel like a milestone has been reached.  We have owned the car 2 years next week and it has changed quite a bit, has not driven under its own power, but does now run.

We first installed the down tube for the exhaust.  Clearances will be tight in the engine bay (no kidding!) so the exhaust will get wraped with heat shield prior to any big trips.  The biggest concerns on the drivers side are the fuel lines and fan for the radiator.

On the passenger side, we connected the down curve to an offset we had made so the exhaust could be routed in the tunnel near the drive shaft.

Here, you can see the routing of the exhaust down the center of the car followed by the turns that go under the lower a arms.  This will be changed in the future when we get better headers.  Unfortunately for now Speed bumps are not our friends

From the back of the car, you can see that the mufflers sit below the center line of the axle.  We can raise them up about an inch, but not much more.  We will leave them in place for now to determine if there will be issues with their placement.

From the front, you can see how low the exhaust sits.  The driver side will most likley contact the ground first.  And I was worried that the radiator was too low.

The Fabulous Fords show is in 5 weeks at Knotts Berry farm.  Chris and I have 3 more weekends to get it drivable there.  The biggest critical items are ...
