HARRISONBURG HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduating seniors of Latino origin are potentially eligible for several
scholarships to be awarded in spring 2013 to fund their studies during the 2013-2014 school year. By submitting
this application package, you will be considered as an applicant for every PROMISE scholarship for which you are eligible
in this application cycle.

Alicia Fernandez-Mooney PROMISE Scholarship
This is a $1000 scholarship for female students of Hispanic origin planning to pursue post-secondary education
in technical schools, community colleges or four-year colleges and universities. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Carmen Flores -- HHS Spanish Club PROMISE Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Harrisonburg High graduate Carmen Flores. While in high school,
Carmen served as President of the Spanish Club and served the local community in various ways. Sadly, Carmen’s life
was cut short by an automobile accident. The Carmen Flores PROMISE Scholarship is a $1,000 award. Selection is based on academic
achievement, academic potential, leadership potential, contributions to the Spanish Club, and character.
Marķa Odette Canivell PROMISE Scholarship
This is a $500 scholarship for Latino students in technical schools, community colleges or four-year colleges and universities.
Applicants must be graduating seniors at HHS.
PROMISE Club Scholarships
In this cycle at HHS, one or more $500 PROMISE Club scholarships will be awarded to Latino students in
technical schools, community colleges or four-year colleges and universities. Applicants must be graduating seniors at HHS.
