New Home in Santa Cruz!

Pete and Julie Schult to move west

They’ll be a week in transit and hope to arrive there Sept 4.

Linguistics program a good fit

As we mentioned in January, the main reason for the move was for Pete to enter a PhD program in linguistics. UCSC’s program, with its emphases on theoretical linguistics, semantics, and computational linguistics, seems to best fit what he’s looking for.

Julie’s job prospects promising

Though the public libraries in California are suffering from lack of funding the universities still need librarians. Julie has an interview on Aug 16 for an Engineering Reference position at Santa Clara University. She’s also got applications in for 3 positions closer to Santa Cruz.
