The Yuki-Onna Series

I absolutely love the country of Japan and nearly anything Japanese.
Even the mythology of the country is uniquely intriguing
to me. A favorite Japanese myth is that of the Yuki-Onna, or Snow Woman.
In the folklore, she's both the frozen embodiment of the snowstorm and a somewhat
vampiric and seductive succubus. Her victims are usually somewhat weak-willed men who
end up frozen and drained of their blood. The Yuki-Onna folktale
seems a bit like the joining of a classic monster movie and an ancient morality tale.

Please Note: In order to remain true to the spirit of mythos, many of the
Yuki-Onna pieces involve nudity. Like most artists through the ages, I
view the human body as the most beautiful of God's creations, and have no problem
with portraying the nude body when I can do it in a tasteful manner. Having said that,
I've chosen not to show any nudity on this Web site. I want this site
to remain a family-friendly "G-Rated" site, not a "PG13-Rated" site. Therefore, most
of the Yuki-Onna pieces are shown in "detailed" views, and not the original format.
Although this makes it harder to get a sense of the piece's composition, it does allow me
to display the pieces without running the risk of offending people.
