The
family, (Weilers, Coyles and Spencers) have all been flooded with
cards and letters of sympathy at our loss of our beloved Mya ...
from our friends, co-works, etc .... and they all touched our
hearts.
For me the one that has really touched me the most .. (and perhaps
the other members of the family - but I am just speaking for myself
at this time) is the letter I received from Dr. Tetreault, Mya's
medical oncologist.
While
I know he sees patients battling against cancer ... and he is
a professional all the way ... and I had thought that "professionals"
tend to keep an arms length from their patients - I mean they
have to or how could they make it in their work ... however just
that they are doctors one knows they want to help people .. Dr.
Tetreault was named 2003 Doctor of the Year at Doctor's Hospital
... one of the reasons stated was because of his compassion for
his patients and their family. If there was ever any doubt to
that reason (and there wasn't for me) the letter I received from
Dr. Tetreault reinforced what I had felt as he and the other doctors
did the very best they could do give Mya the best fighting chance.
