Buses by the Bridge 10th Aniversary 2006
January 13th to 15th Lake Havasu City, AZ at Windsor Beach. This was my 4th year in attendance. Allways a blast. The London
Bridge Bulli's put on a great show. This year there were alot more bay window buses and even more Vanagons. I can now see
why some splitties might just be a little threatened or intimidated. They really are afraid we might take over. No really
just kidding no-ones taking over. I was very surprised though. Carabussed with Mike and Lisa we caught George Lyle outside
of Barstow. The four of us had an nice smooth trip there. We stopped for some buses with mechanical problems but they had
it handled. Arrived just about 1pm Fri AZ time. for me it was 320 miles one way. We set up camp and started to have some fun.
Jim and Lala rolled in just behind us. I was bus #115 out of 300 participants I believe they had in all. The largest
turnout yet. The raffle was terrific Hot dog Fred won the big prize the engine. Lisa won a quilt that Catherine made. Olive
finally talked VW Howard into giving her one of DragenInks shirts. Way to go Olive. It was great to see Susan and Westy it
had been too long. As allways the weekend was way too short and then it was time to go home. I had a small mechanical problem.
the bolt holding my carburator on came loose and I lost the nut. It was striped so Mike and George came to my rescue. We searched
our tins and buckets of spare VW parts and found one to work. Just well enough to get me home. The storm was coming but we
missed it all except the wind. Fought a strong headwind all the way home. By the time I stopped the bus my arms felt like
I had arm wrestled for 8hrs. Ive been sore for days what a work out. So good to see everyone and so sad its over till next
year.

Getting ready for Havasu BBBX
Just got finished with the new upholstery for the back seat. Just in time to try it out camping at Lake Havasu. Will
be working on sewing my new canvas awning and a set of curtains to match the seat. I'll be very busy in the next few days
as well as try to install the curtain rods without taking any furniture out. This sorta stuff is all just part of the fun.
See ya all in Havasu
