What a great show. Held on the scenic grounds of the Kern County Historical
Museum in Bakersfield Ca. there was so much to see. Tucked amongst the historical buildings the cars were set out on the lawn
in a beautiful park like setting. There was just about every kind of car there including trikes, a bug RV, Kemperink and a
Fridolin. The buses came out in force including about 20 of us for camping the evening before. The weather held up nicely
all day it wasn't till the end of the show that a little drizzle came. There were so many nice cars it was hard to see them
all let alone take pictures. I met some nice new friends with a lovely green bay window from Modesto and so many others the
one really nice thing about this show is people come from areas that I don't get to often like Porterville, Modesto, Fresno
and Visalia just to name a few gives me incentive to go to shows in thier area like Motherlode and Madera Ive allways wanted
to check them out. Met Rick and Gary from Bakersfield nice fellas they had a Ghia they put together that was a removeable
hardtop. What a great job from interior to paint to bodywork to the hand tooled trim it was sharp. Till we meet again new
friends. I missed alot of folks that are usually at this show for thier reasons I'm sorry they weren't able to attend. Paul
brought out our SV2S Central Coast Chapter banner trying to give us some exposure. It was a good day but like all things
it must end. Now its time to go home I hooked up with the CCC of VVWCA and took the looonggg way home on rt 166 over to 101
Santa Maria/Arroyo Grande area I had the time so might as well. What a really scenic hwy I've got to get back that way again
and take the 33 into Ojai out of Maricopa see what thats like. Because it was raining a little there were big clouds and sunbursts
on the fields which were so incredibly green it was gorgeous. Thanx for the escort guys see you all at the next show.
