MANHATTAN PROJECT
(a gift that keeps on giving)

Just wanted you all to know that the Manhattan Project (used to develop and build atomic bombs) sent all the uranium ore to the *what we know as Vitro" site in Canonsburg for years before WW II. It was processed there through the late 50's. I am particularly worried about anyone who played on the same field as I.  That is where all the radioactive (uranium-235) rock that was separated from the uranium ore (using water). They just covered up that lagoon with about 4 feet of topsoil and there is about 12 feet of radioactive material beneath it.

All people studied in Japan who lived with in 1 mile of ground zero developed CML (Leukemia that I have). Attached is the satellite pic of the now nuclear dump. You can see the size of the dump plus where I tried to indicate the field and approximate the location of the plant.

I included a few links concerning the cleanup site and some medical studies. The most scary of all is a mention near the end of the first link page is a statement that all the ground water (in nearly 80 acres) near the site in Canonsburg is contaminated. That is ok because we use surface water here. My question is how many people were effected every spring when Chartiers Creek overflowed with the ground water? ...No wonder US Army Corp of Engineers rushed up here in 1968-69 to do that flood control project which near the Morganza property and went back upstream to where the creek was beside our ball field, (lagoon).

If you or anyone you know played on this field in the 70's, please see your doctor and ask to have a test to look for the "Philadelphia Chromosome". You do not need a biopsy, as they have some tests that require only drawn blood. Now, if it is positive, seek an oncologist quickly and get the bone marrow biopsy. These things takes as little as a few years or over 3 decades to develop....low dosages over time is worse than high dosages of radiation for short durations. Pass this along to anyone you know that played on that field.

Tract B is the former American Legion Field. Home plate would of been in the bottom left hand corner of the outlined field. The darker the shading, the higher the radiation levels.

Tract C is the former Men's Softball Field. As with the other tract, home plate would be in the bottom left hand corner. Same measurements apply, darker the shading, the higher the level of radiation.

If you request the government under the freedom of information act, you can get a copy of the Oakridge Radiological Survey (testing) done prior to the cleanup.
