What To Do With My
Stress
The way I suggest is to
search out how Jesus did it. Early in His earthly ministry He was beset
with throngs of people, and needs of all sorts by His followers. there was
always crowds asking questions, seeking
this or that, wanting Him to teach them. They were hungry and He was their
answer, especially to heal the sick.
At an evening Bible study ,
in a private home its recorded that, at the door of the house where He was
staying a multitude had gathered, in fact the Bible states that the entire
city had gathered there. The next morning Jesus took time to deal with
this "stress" in
His ministry.
Mark 1:35 records it like
this "And having risen
very early, by night, He went into a desert place, and was there
praying". This one verse is a complete course in "stress
management". What did He do?
1. He went for a
walk. He exercised and took care of His physical need.
2. He went to a place
of quietness, to stop and think and to exercise His mind, reflecting on
His heavenly Father's Words.
3. He prayed, He
prayed, He prayed, building Himself up with Spiritual nourishment.
So we see in this one verse
that Jesus did three things with out any fanfare; He took care of the
Physical, Mental and Spiritual elements in His life. Note too here how he
keenly balanced all three elements
to keep Himself from over reaction, thus causing stress to build in the
body mind and soul.
Don't neglect any of the
three elements as they work together in the Body to bring harmony and
balance to any situation you might be going through.
Finally, make a specific
effort each day to first and foremost "Spend Time with God" both
in prayer and in the Word, the Bible. Feed your soul and body with
nourishing food.
God
Bless
