At home in North Bend, Oregon, you have reached the homepage of Donna & Randy Lau. We are located on the southern Oregon coast, approximately 100 miles north of the California border.

Sailing in the MC Scow #977

We have many opportunities for sailing, skiing, hiking and backpacking, or travelling from the shores of the nearby Pacific Ocean, through the Coastal Mountain Range to the Willamette River Valley, then on up to the high Cascade Mountains, and finally on over to the high plains deserts of the eastern part of the state.

Backpacking to Vulcan Lakes

During the late Spring, Summer, and early Fall, we spend a lot of our weekends enjoying sailing on the South Tenmile Lake at the Coos Bay Yacht Club. Owners of an MC Scow (#977) and members of the CBYC MC Scow Fleet No. 57, we get to enjoy many hours of sailing in club-sponsored Portsmouth handicapped racing. Summer months also bring some comfortable weather for hiking and backpacking in the Coast Range, or in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon.

On the Slopes!

The Winter season brings out the skis, and ski gear to enjoy the snow-covered slopes of the Cascade Mountains. Our particular favorites in Oregon are the slopes at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, or the runs at Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort. The Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort provides some excellent skiing, and snow conditions on the southeastern slopes of Mt. Hood. The skiing is also excellent at the Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort. Skiing at Mt. Bachelor also gives us the opportunity to stay at the Sunriver Resort Area where we always seem to find our way to the hot tub after a long day on the slopes.

Travelling in Kauai Hawaii State Flag

For longer holidays, we also enjoy travelling to different parts of the United States, to the Caribbean, and home to the State of Hawaii to Randy's relatives, and roots in Honolulu.
