#3129 1/6 Plate Daguerreotype a beautiful woman

Wonderful sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of a beautiful woman. Her brooch has been gilded and pin-pricked with a dab of red in the center. Housed in a worn full case with a loose side rail which prevents closure, original spine. CONDITION: the re-silvered plate has some small marks off to the left of her shoulder. New glass and sealed with P90. (NOTE: re-silvered refers to a process done by the daguerreotypist to add an extra layer of silver to the plate before buffing and the image exposed. This is generally believed to have been done to achieve a superior plate surface, hence a better quality daguerreotype.) $285.00
