Wonderful half plate (4.25" by 5.50") daguerreotype
of a sophisticated Mom and her lovely well dressed children. This masterpiece was taken by the well known William C. North
of Cleveland Ohio. "Wm. C. North Cleveland, O." is embossed in the mat. Housed in a worn "EICKMEYER" style case with some
scuffs, leather loss on both bottom and top rails (mostly bottom) and the top clasp has been reglued.
CONDITION: the plate is excellent with a small amount of perimeter tarnish and just the hint of mat marks in several places.
Some buffing lines, several very fine lines in the upper left background and one small 1/8" line traveling out from the mat
at the bottom are visible at extreme viewing angles. New glass and resealed with Filmoplast P90.
