Reading List

Sorry, but it has become just too hard to keep this page up to date, along with all my other reviewing work.  So, from now on, I will list only my absolute favorites here, and for the rest of what I'm reading, you can go here  (Amazon reviews) or here (MWSA)to check out my reviews.

All time favorites:

On the Wings of Eagles by Ken Follett.  In 1978, the Iranians illegally detained two of Ross Perot's employees.  So he went and got them out, regardless of the cost.  A great adventure story, it's made even greater because it's TRUE.

Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield.  Loaned to me by my Academy roommate Greg, this is a military book about the battle of Thermopylae.  I've read it twice in one year, and really enjoy the way it balances action with commentary on discipline, order, and sacrifice.

Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein.  My all time favorite book.  A great military read that brings out great societal and military ethics issues, as well as being incredibly entertaining.  If you saw the movie, forget it.  It didn't even scratch the surface of what this book offers.

Bolo Series created by Keith Laumer Great science fiction.  Laumer created the idea, but some of the best names in sci-fi (like Drake and Weber) have added their own spin to the ideas of AI tanks that defend humanity against all alien aggressors, and each other.
