Dean O'Connor (1986)
Dean was a four year player and captain in his senior year. He played fullback and linebacker. On 10/5/85 vs. K.P., this work horse had, 27 carries for 98 yards and 9 tackles and two interceptions. He was named Player of the Week in the Boston papers. Versus Stoughton, he rushed for 87 yards, scored two touchdowns, caught a two point conversion and had 12 tackles. He was All-Hockomock, All Sun Chronicle and Boston Globe Division III All Star. He played basketball for four years and was captain in his senior year. In 1992 he graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a BS in Education. He presently teaches Health and Physical Education at Franklin High School.
Donald Purrier (1953)
Donald was a four year varsity player and captain in his senior year. "Red”, played offense and defense and received punts and kickoffs. He scored touchdowns with his running and catching passes. Against Oliver Ames , he scored 31 points and was named the Boston Traveler All Star. He
ranked fourth in State scoring. Don, played Track for four years and was captain in his senior year.
He was the "South Shore Half Mile King" and received radio station WCOP Award of Merit, for outstanding athletic ability and sportsmanship He and his wife Susanne have three children and are the proud grand parents of three grandchildren.
Larry Mahoney (1977)
Larry was captain of the 1976 team. This five foot, ten inch, 185 pounder, was a four year starter as a linebacker and fullback. He was a spectacular runner, breaking tackles, recovering fumbles and intercepting passes. He provided the Hornets with the break- away thrust. In 1976, in the first four games, he rushed for over 380 yards and scored 30 points. Larry "provided spark as a linebacker and a take charge guy". He was All Hockomock in 1975 and 1976 and All Sun Chronicle in 1975 and 1976 ( and defensive captain) . He was four years on the Track team. Larry is married with five children, ages 12 to 2 years old.
