2004 Hall of Fame

Inducted this year were Anthony Forte, Robert Santucci, Rudolph Fasulo, Joseph Todesco, Russell Rapoza, Gary DeGirolamo and Sean Gray.

Joseph Todesco:
A 1949 graduate, Todesco was the captain of the team and was the first football player at Mansfield High to earn four football letters. He was an outstanding all-star tackle and a standout in baseball.

Todesco was the co-owner with his brother, John, of Todesco Plumbing and Heating and now lives in Florida. His brother, John, accepted the award for him.

Rudolph Fasulo:
A 1952 graduate, Fasulo was a hard-running fullback for Mansfield High. In 1950, his team was 4-1-4, scoring all of the touchdowns in three games, a 6-6 and 7-7 ties and 25-7 win over Oliver Ames. Fasulo was a captain for Mansfield.

An All Bristol County player, Fasulo was nominated for the National High School All-American All-Star Football Team. He was also on track team.

He served in U.S. Army and worked for the Mansfield Electric Department and was a bus driver for Mansfield High.

Robert Santucci:
A 1960 graduate, Santucci was a three-sport standout for the Hornets in football, basketball and baseball. In football, he was on the varsity for three years as a halfback and "lonesome end" on offense and defensive back. He was on the 1959 team that was the first to undefeated with an 8-0-0 record and the Class D Championships. Santucci scored three touchdowns against Taunton and was known as a very good tackler.

In basketball, he was on the 1960 team, which won the Hockomock League title with a 16-3 record. His team also won the Hockomock League baseball title with a 14-4 record. Santucci was the co-captain and led the team with 22 stolen bases in 22 attempts. He served in the United States Army from 1964-66 and retired after 42 years with the Foxboro Company.

Russell Rapoza:
A 1986 graduate, Rapoza was a three-year starter on offense and defense for the Hornets, earling All-Hockomock League honors in 1985 and was the MVP of the Thanksgiving Day game. He also played on special teams for the Hornets.

Rapoza is a freshmen coach for the Hornets and was involved in Mansfield Pop Warner. He is the owner and president of his construction company.

Anthony Forte:
A 1993 graduate, Forte was part of one of the best backfields in the history of Mansfield football with fellow Hall of Famer Omari Walker and Matt Carpenter on the first Super Bowl winning team in 1992. As the fullback in the Wing-T, Forte rushed for over 10 yards a carry and also played outside linebacker.

Forte was one of those players you could count on in the big games. He went to start for three years at running back at Bridgewater State. After a career in Marines, he is now plant superintendent, Aggregate, Inc. and lives in Mansfield.

Gary DeGirolamo:
A 1994 graduate, DeGirolamo is regarded as one of the best linebackers to ever play for Mansfield. He was the captain of the football and baseball team

As a running back, he was a punishing blocker and runner with the speed of a halfback. He graduated from Bridgewater State College and is the owner of Gary's Sealcoating Company.

Sean Gray:
A 1994 graduate, Gray was an outstanding offensive guard and defensive end for Mansfield. He is regard as one of the best offensive linemen to play for the Hornets. He was captain of the football and basketball teams, earning MVP of Ro-Jack's Basketball Tournament, scoring 23 points with 11 rebounds.

Gray attended Bentley College where he played strong safety on the football team, while earning a degree in finance. He is now the Bank of America's Dedham and Norwood branches.
