BRUCE VICKERY 1936Vickery played baseball and football where he played fullback, halfback, quarterback, punter and kicker. He was MVP. His senior year the team was Bristol County Champions and he was highest scorer in Bristol County, finishing fifth in the States Third Division. He was also treasurer of his class. He and his brother Norman (Class of 1939) were owners of Vickery Motors of Mansfield.JAMES BALDINI 1960Baldini was a three-year track and football star at MHS. He was an incredible player on offense, filling the role in both guard and right tackle positions and on defense played linebacker and end. He was a Sun Chronicle All-Star and contributed immensely to Mansfield's first undefeated football team. He was also a class Vice President. He owns Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Suffolk University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Sigma Lambda Honor Society. He has served with the U.S. Army and National Guard and is currently a marketing sales representative.ARLEN SHAW 1980In 1970 he was number 22 and one of the first youngsters to sign as a Pop Warner player. He ran track, where he competed in the 50, 440 and the triple jump. He also played four years at running back and outside linebacker and earned the nickname "Rover Back." He was selected by Coach Tony Day as a future candidate for the Gridiron Club MHS Hall of Fame. He received All-Hockomock honors as a defensive player. He played semi-professional football in the Eastern Football League for the Taunton and Middleboro. He was a National Honor Society member and later attended Syracuse University.DAVID ANTOSCA 1990Antosca had 124 tackles in two years and was selected on the Sun Chronicle All-Star team. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Plymouth State College. He is employed as a corrections officer with the Massachusetts Department of Correction.ERIK LUNDELL 1997Lundell played varsity basketball, track and was a captain and starting center fielder in baseball. He played varsity football for four years where he captained the team in 96. He scored 161 points and had more than 1,000 yards rushing and receiving, averaging 21.3 yards per catch. He kicked 37 extra points. In his senior year, he registered more than 40 tackles on defense. He was Mansfield MVP, All-Hockomock MVP (defense), All-Scholastic Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Brockton Enterprise, Attleboro Sun and Boston Globe Division and a three-time all-star. He played in the 1997 Shriners All-Star Classic before playing at Hofstra where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is employed as an outside sales associate with Shaw Industries.JOSEPH TODD 1997Todd ran track and played football for four years. In his junior and senior seasons the Brockton Enterprise, the Hockomock League and the Sun Chronicle selected him as all-star. In 1996 he was on the Boston Globe Division 3 team. He made the Massachusetts State Coaches Association All-State Football Team. AT MHS, he had 24 quarterback sacks, scored 116 points, rushed for 1,652 yards and had 119 tackles. In the 1996 Super Bowl he ran for two touchdowns and had two quarterback sacks. In the 1997 Shriners All-Steam game, he had nine solo tackles, three sacks, forced a fumble and blocked a punt earning MVP honors. He graduated from Hofstra and received a Bachelor of Arts in marketing. He played professionally for the New York Jets and Tampa Bay. He is employed as a linebacker coach with the University of Rhode Island.To assist in researching in many areas like future Hall of Fame members, a Gridiron Club Library has been established and we would appreciate receiving any scrapbooks, photographs (especially of the team) or newspaper articles concerning the football team.
