About 40-mi north of Mammoth Lakes, we turn on Tioga Pass Rd. topping out at 10,000ft. Just off Tioga Pass Road, the trail for Fantail Lake starts at Junction Campground. Start of the trail to Fantail Lake. We will follow Mine Creek past Mt. Dana. These tiny wild flowers grow along the rocky trail.

Gloria pauses on the rocky trail. Gloria scrambles up the rocks...she likes to do it the hardway! Some wild flowers growing from the jagged rocks. The trail swings down along Mine Creek past a chain of pretty lakes.

These tiny wildflowers could be spreading phlox. With the heavy winter snows, Mine Creek is a raging torrent. The trail follows a rocky outcroping. Fantail Lake with White Mt. and the Sierra Crest as a backdrop. This looks like a good place for lunch.
