Self-Catering
Holiday Home
Accommodation

on the Iveragh
Peninsula
in County Kerry

Welcome to our farmhouse vacation home, which has been restored
to offer a unique experience of the timeless charm of Old Ireland. We are
located in a quiet seaside rural area at the very end of the Iveragh
peninsula, within easy walking distance of the picturesque fishing village
of Portmagee, Ireland.

Wake up in the morning and open the front door to see the sun rising
over Macgillicuddy's Reeks, the highest mountains in Ireland.  Watch the
wild Atlantic ocean from our kitchen window, where seven miles off-shore
stands the best-preserved monastic settlement in Europe, Skellig Michael
(boat trips depart from Portmagee daily).  Visit the dramatic scenery and
varied attractions of the Ring of Kerry, then come home to relax by the
comforting peat fire in our living room.

The cottage is on an elevated location overlooking Portmagee harbor, and
enjoys fine views of the surrounding countryside.  A protected beach is a few minutes' walk
down the lane from the cottage.   Portmagee has two pubs with restaurants, a foodstore
and a bakery/cafe.  The pubs have traditional Irish music on a regular basis.

Our self-catering vacation home has been rated as a three-star accommadation
by the Irish national tourist board. It has three bedrooms which sleep six (an extra
bedroom with a single bed is available upon request for a nominal fee).  The interior
features the original wood floors and pine woodwork throughout.  The living room
has fireplace (peat provided), and the walled-in yard is perfect for children.

Southwest Kerry - the Kerry Skellig Region - is a welcoming place to enjoy
your vacation, with plenty of opportunities for a variety of activities to suit your interests,
all  within easy reach from Portmagee.  Walking along the coast or up in the hills, cycling,
angling, car-touring, golf, bird-watching, pony-trekking, diving and other water sports,
visits to historic and archeological sites, local crafts, boat-trips, festivals and much more.
The house is just 6 miles off of the famous Ring of Kerry, which makes it easily accessible
to all of the attractions and activities in Kerry. Please see our Activities page for more
information.

Or, you can just relax by a quiet peat fire in our living room, or maybe walk down
the lane to the Reencaheragh beach and watch the tide come in while the seals look for
their next meal.
