Disclaimer:  Use this information at your own risk.  We assume no liability for errors that may appear here, nor do we assume liability for any alleged product deficiency you might infer, or for any incidental or consequential damage or fines that might result from your attempts to service the system yourself.

There are many variations in security and fire system installations.  The advice on this site is general in nature and does not replace specific instructions that may apply to your particular system.  You may have accessories or variations that are not covered here.  This information is based on the policies and experience of Reliance Alarm Company, which may vary substantially from the policies and experience of other alarm companies.  The comments contained herein are merely our opinion.  Because of the nature of the security business and the need for system reliability, we may be inclined to disfavor one method, product, treatment or procedure over another simply because we strive to minimize the potential for malfunctions and false alarms.  If you are the customer of another alarm company, you need to consult with your current company for specific assistance.

This information is not intended to solicit the current subscribers of other alarm companies.  (See Ex. 20:17.)  However, if you simply can not be reconciled with a previous supplier, we would be happy to serve you after all previous contracts and obligations have expired.

If you have suggestions for improvement of this section that would benefit our other subscribers, by all means, please pass them along.  We will try to keep this information as up to date as possible.

I hear beeps.

I have a continuous tone and my keypad display says "P" or "Priority Trouble."

How do I remove the cover from the AT&T 8000 Central Controller cabinet?

The Central Controller has no lights lit at all, but it beeps as usual when I set and unset the burglar alarm.

I'm having a door or window replaced.  What do I need to do about the alarm?

How do I disable and "un-log" a malfunctioning device from the system?
