A family update
I still work as a Systems Engineer for Attachmate. It is hard to believe I've been there for more than 16 years!
Sent the last of our four kids off to WSU this year (Jason: he's studying engineering! ye ha). Jason just joined James at WSU after graduating (valedictorian :)) from Shoreline Christian HS. He is studying engineering, but keeping an open mind on that course.
Next is James. He's third year at Washington State University in Pullman in a Biology major - Wildlife Ecology is how he describes it. This is a perfect fix for him as he loves fishing and the outdoors.
Then Marlae, graduated in Human Services from Trinity Western University in Langley, BC this spring. She now works at Umoja Operation Compassion Society in Surrey, British Columbia with African immigrants to Canada - her 'dream job'. Actually She's holding down a couple other jobs as the Umoja position is not full-time.
Andrea, our oldest, who 'would never be an engineer' got a degree in physics from SPU and went to work as a structural engineer [note: big grin on Dad's face]. The economy ended that last year and she now works for Brooks Sports in Bothell as a lab tech - her 'dream job' and she's loving it. Andrea graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 2007 with a degree in physics.
Becky just keeps busy. She's been very involved in our church but is trying to scale that back and work in more direct ministry. So she concentrates on our local neighbors and friends. She still full of ideas and dreams. Becky is actually enjoying the 'empty nest' more than we ever thought she would. It is never very empty for very long. The kids manage to get over quite often and word is out that we have empty rooms so friends of the kids have even shown up to fill those. Becky has been keeping busy with neighbors and friends of neighbors as well. Oh and she's been filling the fish with Salmon in her spare time.
