Just the sight of that sign makes me close my eyes and remember
all the hot summer days on the river. If you want to know how it is out there right now, click the weather link below.Don't forget to click back.
Current Weather
Our first trip to the river without mom, we joined up with the Hedlunds, O'Rourkes, and Nathans (and the steadfast group
of river rats - Paul & Kristi, Parm, Homey, Steve & his young'uns) to kick off August.
| It NEVER rains at the river |

|
| Gonna get wet anyway, might as well enjoy it! |
| Landing at Buffy's Beach |

|
| What SPF do I use for Fog? |

|
It rained most of the morning on Friday, but that didn't stop us. The sun finally started peakin' through as we decided
to pack-up for the day and hit Laughlin. Saturday was going to be beautiful.
| Da Maliboo moovin' out! |

|
| Hey Laura, wanna go tubin'? |

|
| It's TOO EARLY to get wet! |
Adam couldn't wait to get in the water. He was the first to use the girl's new board and once we finally got his feet
into the bindings (they were a lil' stiff, it took 1/2 bottle of slime) he popped right up!

| The Energizer Bunny has nothin' on him |

|
| Is that GOOFY foot? |

|
| Oh wait, he's about too.......... |
| Adam finally calls it quits |

|
| Tony you can put the flare gun away now |
The new prop helped move the boat a bit faster. Sure was fun while it lasted. The new prop is now the new spare prop!
| Tony rippin' accross the wake |

|
| "See Jim?, this how you do it!" |
| HEY MA ,look, NO BRAINS! |

|
| See? Just like in the instruction book |
Tony drove the boat while I hung on. Good thing Keri didn't take a shot when I face planted.
| Now if I could only turn...... |

|
| hmmm...thats what the boat looks like from here. |
| Here';s "G" tryin' to pop up! |

|
| Hang in there girl while I...oops, sorry G |
I think that Millie purposely did all her wakeboarding under water. Was it because she wasn't wearing the proper board
shorts?
On to Topock for breakfast, then the Sandbar!
| Derek polishing up his stand up routine. |

|
| Maybe he should wait until they've eaten? |
| THE BIG KIDS TABLE |

|
| Scott," See Tony said he was a chick magnet" |
| HEY! this is as big as me! |

|
| As soon as I'm done I'm going swimmin' |
| Made in the Shade |

|
When we got to the Sandbar we quickly anchored the boats and put up as much shade as possible.
| Life just doesn't get any better than this...... |

|
| hope you enjoyed your last time at the sandbar.. |
| Boy its hot out...... |

|
| .....uh did you see that? |
| It sure is hot.... |

|
| I hope thats not what I thought you saw... |
| Here we are at the "safe" end of the Sandbar |

|
The kids got tired of the Sandbar early and wanted to go back and "swim" so we loaded them all into the lil' boat and
headed back. Besides, it was getting close to dinner time.
| Hmmmm, these oysters are good.. |

|
| lets see if the kids like 'em |
| Hey! Get a room! What? You have one? |

|
| Bar-b- que time in the Traveller's parking lot.... |
After a long day on (in) the water it is hard to decide wheather to bar-b-que or order out.
| MENU FROM THE LOCAL PIZZA JOINT |

|
| A favorite with the lil' river ratz |
The fun never stops at the river!
On the next trip out we treated Vicky to the "We are leaving at O' dark thirty"
method of avoiding traffic. This means little or no sleep and hitting the road at 3:00 am!
| SUNRISE OVER NEEDLES |
|
|
| This picture really doesn't do the sunrise justice |
We took turns driving and Vicky took the leg from Barstow into Needles. The sunrise was Awesome! Unfortunately
taking pictures through the sunroof at 90 miles per hour doesn't always make for the best shot. Although a bit groggy the
kids were wide awake and excited to be "almost there".

|
| Checkin' out the sunrise |

|
| Are we there yet? |
| GOOD MORNING! |

|
| The ol', "you take my picture & you're dead" stare. |
The last few miles were filled with excitement (or something...we all had to make a pit stop
when we got there!)
The rain had passed and the sky was clearing. You could taste the desert air. Or was that
the coffecake we had in the car???
| Mystery Car |
|
|
| Hmmm, is was a dark and stormy night......we were being followed...... |
| AH HA ! |
|
|
| It was Kelli & Bailey all along! |
Friday we just cruised, hit Topok & the Sand Bar.....rested
up for a big day at Havasu Saturday...
| "G" on the lake |

|
Where............... we met up with Scott,
Tony, Laura, Linda, their respective kids And their host for the weekend, Mike, at the London Bridge.
Unfortunately the President was visiting
there that day and photographs of the bridge and all the very exciting attractions were prohibited. That's why there are no
pictures of them here.
Secret Service guys ALL around....whew,
and then Tony goes an....oh we'll save that for another page....
| "POP goes the G |

|
Jillian & Kelli braved the icy hot waters
of Lake Havasu
| Kelli jammin' across the lake |

|
| GO GIRL! |

|
| I'm Done! |

|
| But let me just float here awhile...ok? |
It was a fun day. We all ended up at the pool by the bridge.
Then..........
........the weather started acting up a lil' bit. When it time to call it a day we all
had one eye on the sky. Here we were towing a portable lightning rod and the gang still had quite a boat ride to get back
to the launch site. But, yeah, you got it, story for another, 'nother page.
