Before the chat:
Darmryan: Anyone know how many of us are going to be in here?
Laskye: Patti was supposed to be at Robert's around 3 p.m. this afternoon.
NEA WOOD: Probably the limit, because this chat was full, right?
ShAronMEC: It's gettin' squishy in this here dormitory.
BUC252: How's everybody doing?
Blu Skiiz: Is everyone ready for this chat? :-)
Darmryan: You bet.
ShAronMEC: Wish the Captain would sign on too. Wouldn't that be great?
SMED4: Born ready!
Carousel F: I'm excited :)
NEA WOOD: Oh, yes indeedy!
Blu Skiiz: Oh yeah! I wish that, too!
SMED4: That would be fun.
Blu Skiiz: My hands are sweating, I must be excited! LOL!
NEA WOOD: I would just want him and Robert to chat and I'd just read it! LOL
ShAronMEC: Me too.
Blu Skiiz: I'm sure he and Stuart know about it, don't they?
Carousel F: That's about what I do anyway .. I can never think of anything to say ..
SMED4: Wish it could have been a voice chat.
Laskye: I would imagine, did they sign up for the chat?
NEA WOOD: Well, you tried, Kimber. Maybe next time.
Blu Skiiz: That would have been very cool, Kim!
Blu Skiiz: I don't know, Susie! I wonder if they did!
ShAronMEC: I hope Patti can keep up with all of us.
The Chat:
DSoucie: Hi Robert
Laskye: Hi Robert
Carousel F: Hi Robert :)
Darmryan: Hi Robert
Blu Skiiz: Welcome Robert!
SMED4: Hi Robert
ShAronMEC: Hi
Laskye: This is Susie.... HCTB Fan Club Pres.
BSFCPres: Hello Robert.
BUC252: Good evening, Robert. Nice of you to meet with us.
BUC252: Or, should I say, meet with us again. <g>
Redrose th: Hello Robert.
Blu Skiiz: Hello also to Patti!
MrJBolt: Hello everyone!
MrJBolt: Thank you for sitting facing a screen rather than staring at a screen that we can barely read, sitting outside in the sun. The 5:00 sun is blurring the screen.
ShAronMEC: Bummer.
Laskye: Ah, so you are outside in the beautiful southern CA sun. :-)
BUC252: It must be beautiful to have that kind of sun, though. Not like Buffalo and Seattle, where it rains a lot. <g>
SMED4: I have too much sun here in Phoenix!
ShAronMEC: No clouds today in Ojai.
DSoucie: Robert, what is the best role you ever had??
MrJBolt: The best role I ever had was one of father.
Blu Skiiz: What a sweet answer.
BSFCPres: How sweet!
Carousel F: Great answer.
ShAronMEC: How is your daughter, Mr. B?
MrJBolt: My daughter surprises me each time we meet. She seems to have the same spirit that she had when she was 8 or 9, joyous, and loving.
ShAronMEC: How could she not, with a dad like you? :o)
Blu Skiiz: You can tell she was raised well, with lots of love, Robert
Redrose th: Is there a role you turned down and then wished you hadn't?
BUC252: Robert, is there any role you've done that, upon looking back, you wish you'd reconsidered?
MrJBolt: Yes, I felt very uncomfortable playing Primus.
ShAronMEC: Why was the Primus role so difficult?
MrJBolt: But then again, it paid me a decent salary and my complaints are made small with the reality of making a living.
Laskye: That makes sense.
Laskye: Are you still doing the IAMS commercials?
Blu Skiiz: Or any other voiceovers to listen for?
SMED4: Any chance of doing books on tape?
MrJBolt: Just finished doing Iams after nine years.
Laskye: I miss hearing you on the IAMS commercials. Nine years, wow.
Blu Skiiz: :-)
SMED4: I really miss your voice.
MrJBolt: I don't know about voice-overs, I don't know which ones are used.
Blu Skiiz: Oh, you'd be wonderful doing a book on tape -- great idea, Kim!
MrJBolt: Books on tape: Make me an offer. :-)
NEA WOOD, SMED4: LOL
Blu Skiiz: :-)
BUC252: Is there anything about Brides that you would have liked to have seen done differently?
BSFCPres: How many Brides fans have told you they named one of their children "Jason"? I did!!
MrJBolt: Just the other day, again, someone did. The husband gave me a funny look.
SMED4: LOL
Blu Skiiz: The name sure got more popular in the 70's! As well as Joshua and Jeremy!
MrJBolt: I said to her beseechingly "Please tell your husband I have never even held your hand!"
NEA WOOD, Blu Skiiz, Carousel F: LOL
SMED4: hee hee
BSFCPres: Well, my Jason is now a college graduate going into medicine.
Laskye: Wonderful Kathi.
MrJBolt: Yes, many people have said they name their children after Jason.
ShAronMEC: Jason's character still has the same effect on my students today, Mr. B. The boys really like him.
MrJBolt: My mother named me after the poet Robert Burns. She called him Robbie Burns.
Laskye: Ahhhh. :-)
Blu Skiiz: How interesting!!
BUC252: Awww. Did she call you Robbie as a child?
SMED4: You are every bit as eloquent as Robbie Burns.
Redrose th: I agree.
MrJBolt: Kathi, from here you don't look that old to have a son going into medicine.
BSFCPres: Thanks....
Carousel F: Are you still writing ?
DSoucie: That is interesting Robert because both Burns and Bolts are Scottish.
MrJBolt: I am going to do Robbie Burns, this is the only prayer I say at meal time for guests. Some have meat and cannot eat, and some have none that want it. But we have meat, and we can eat, so let the Lord be thankit.
SMED4: Oh, I remember that. How wonderful.
Carousel F: Wonderful :)
MKBAUGHAN: Definitely Scottish
Blu Skiiz: Oh how cute is that?!?! :-)
ShAronMEC: Amen
Blu Skiiz: I want to read more of his work!
DSoucie: It seems that you have much in common with Mr. Burns....
NEA WOOD: That is much nicer than the prayer Jason did in the pilot! :-)
Blu Skiiz: LOL, Nance!
Laskye: What? Gangway Lord....Here Come The Brides! :-)
Laskye: I know you stay in touch with Bridget, any other cast members that you keep in touch with?
MKBAUGHAN: Ok, I have a question.... are Patti and the girls behaving?
MrJBolt: I am at Patti's, Karen's, and LaDene's mercy!
ShAronMEC: Which role have you had that really stretched you as an actor?
MrJBolt: Each role you begin again to investigate your own character in order to understand the one the author has given you.
BUC252: Do people often recognize or remember you from Star Trek, and what do you remember about that experience?
MrJBolt: Yes, they do remember me from Star Trek. That is the most
remarkable thing of all.
BUC252: The Trekkers have incredible memories.
Laskye: I love your guest appearance on In The Heat Of The Night, I'm a HUGE fan of that show too.
NEA WOOD: Oh, yes, that was a great character.
MKBAUGHAN: The Lazarus episode was on Star Trek yesterday... I got to watch two whole minutes of it.
BUC252: Oh, yes. Heat was a great show - Carroll O'Connor always does a remarkable job.
ShAronMEC: From the mail you got when the show aired, did you realize the effect Jason was having on us.
MrJBolt: A lot. Yes.
Blu Skiiz: You're friends with Carroll O'Connor, aren't you?
MrJBolt: Bill Shatner and myself had earlier co-starred in a TV pilot that was never bought for a series, but was aired.
NEA WOOD: Yes, you were great in that.
SMED4: You and "Brides" have influenced all of our lives in a great many ways.
Carousel F: What type of show was it ?
BUC252: How did you two get along?
Laskye: It aired? What was the title of it?
MrJBolt: That was the film that brought Shatner to the attention of the author and producer of Star Trek, Gene Roddenburry.
TMSJ: That was a neat show - Colossus.
BUC252: The "Great Bird of the Galaxy". I always liked that nickname.
MrJBolt: In that first year, Roddenburry called me one evening, and asked if he may come by with the casting director that has a contract in his pocket for me.
BUC252: They must have known you were perfect for the part.
MrJBolt: Thank you for all of the comments.
ShAronMEC: What did being in Brides do for you personally and
professionally?
MrJBolt: Personally, it pumped up my ego and I couldn't find a hat to fit, my head was so large.
ShAronMEC, DSoucie, CarouselF, Darmryan, Laskye : LOL
NEA WOOD: I doubt that! :-)
Blu Skiiz: HA!
MrJBolt: I was recognized by headwaiters and got good tables.
ShAronMEC: Probably by the waitresses too.
MrJBolt: Brides put money in my pocket, which I quickly disposed of. I enjoyed the high life.
MKBAUGHAN: We all would enjoy the high life!
ShAronMEC: Did it (Brides) help you professionally?
Redrose th: Mr. Brown have you ever turned down a role only too later wish you had chosen to do it?
ORRY MAIN: Does anyone ever ask you about your stint as a ballroom dancer on Ryan's Hope?
MrJBolt: No. Thank you for remembering Ryan's Hope!!! I had forgotten myself. I worked very hard to learn that dancing stuff.
ORRY MAIN: You're welcome .. I highly enjoyed watching you dance with Helen Gallagher. You did very well!
MrJBolt: Again, I was coming to the end of my fame game.
MKBAUGHAN: I loved Ryan's Hope.... it brought out more of the O'Brien Irish in me for some reason.
ShAronMEC: Not in our hearts!
MrJBolt: Well, Gallagher was a professional dancer, I on the other hand was always too shy to dance with the beautiful women.
ORRY MAIN: Yes, I had read about that, but didn't know if you had a dancing background or not. :}
BUC252: Being shy is very different from Jason Bolt's brashness. Was that hard to play, being so different?
SMED4: I know that you all did quite a bit of adlibbing on HCTB. Do you have a favorite ad lib?
Darmryan: Where you surprised when Brides was cancelled?
Blu Skiiz: Do you still have any scripts or other HCTB memorabilia (clothing or mementos)?
MrJBolt: I am a fellow who has been in maybe over a 100 roles and when one is over, it's over. I'm also a fella who saves strings, twine and worn out razor blades.
NEA WOOD: LOL
MrJBolt: So, the HCTB memorabilia is put away and I never go back. Someday I will find that box.
BSFCPres: We will always love our Jason Bolt.
Laskye: Just one box? LOL
SMED4: Did you enjoy playing Jason Bolt as much as we enjoyed watching you play him?
MrJBolt: Jason was a good man.
DSoucie: Yes.
NEA WOOD: True.
MrJBolt: Who kept his promise, Even though he was a devil.
ORRY MAIN: LOL
Blu Skiiz: You played him so well, and we can't imagine anyone else in the role.
MrJBolt: He was someone the author intended to be a protector.
ShAronMEC: That's why we loved him.
MKBAUGHAN: He fulfilled that role.
MrJBolt: He was the man who promised to protect their virtue.
BUC252: And in a town full of restless loggers, that couldn't have been easy.
MrJBolt: Jason Bolt was only human. But he kept his promise. It was fun playing Jason.
MKBAUGHAN: That's why I liked him.... he was human.
ShAronMEC: How is the theatre scene in Ojai? Are you involved?
MKBAUGHAN: Robert, after HCTB ended, did you still have to audition for your guest shots or were they looking for a Robert Brown type and call you
Darmryan: If there were to be a remake of Brides now, who can you see playing Jason & why?
BUC252: Okay, this one will be a frivolous question. Were those costumes as uncomfortable as they looked?
MrJBolt: The costumes, no, not uncomfortable. My father told me while I was growing up, that his father, who was in the British army during the Boer war, and the Sudan, would always wear a jacket with long sleeves and socks, so that his body temperature would remain the same in the high heat. That's why I asked to wear a turtleneck and a leather costume.
DSoucie: Wow!
Blu Skiiz: Oh how interesting!
Laskye: That's interesting....
MKBAUGHAN: Did it work?
MrJBolt: I lasted longer than Bobby Sherman did with his shirt unbuttoned down to his belly button.
ORRY MAIN, DSoucie, Blu Skiiz, Carousel F, SMED4, Laskye: LOL!
MrJBolt: But, he had a nice chest? Didn't he?
Carousel F: Ohhhh yes!
SMED4: Did you get to keep any of your Jason costumes?
ORRY MAIN: oh -- you were able to choose your wardrobe?
DSoucie: Robert....did you ever do any producing or writing or directing???
SCB1959: Mr. Brown, I just wanted to stop in to say how much I enjoyed your role :)
BUC252: If you were on Brides but not playing Jason, who would you have wanted to play?
ShAronMEC: So many of us love the episodes with Jason and Holly Houston. Great chemistry between you 2!
MrJBolt: Oh yes, Jennifer West....
MrJBolt: I remember her fondly.
ShAronMEC: Is she still acting?
SMED4: Jennifer West is one of my favorites. Do you stay in touch with her?
Blu Skiiz: That was a question I wanted to ask...about your favorite guest stars on HCTB!
JHSIESS: Mr. Brown, do you also enjoy a nice glass of wine from time to time??? What kind is your Favorite?
MrJBolt: I learned the lesson not to have favorites.
Darmryan: Very wise man!
Laskye: Safe move, huh?
MrJBolt: I use to indulge in tasting barrels and barrels of wine and brandy.
ShAronMEC: So you and Clancey weren't faking it at the bar?
Darmryan: LOL
MrJBolt: Today, my Doctor tells me that I am allergic to even a dram of alcohol.
BUC252: Ouch.
JHSIESS: Oh . . :-( I was going to send you a bottle of wine from my home town.
MrJBolt: It makes my heart race. So, the devil has done me in!
ShAronMEC: A Scot without his Scotch.
MaryAliceHurd: Just a wee dock and dorus??? Jist a wee drop, that's all...
MrJBolt: Or maybe it's God that saved me.
ShAronMEC: More than likely. And we're grateful He has.
NEA WOOD: Amen!
DSoucie: Yes.
Redrose th: Yes.
Blu Skiiz: Agreed!
Darmryan: Indeed.
MaryAliceHurd: YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!
SMED4: Indeedy.
MaryAliceHurd: Mr. Brown, I'm missing the Texas Scottish Festival here in Dallas to talk with you, & I was wondering what some of your favourite Scottish tunes are, because I'm a piper and I'd love to record some of those for you and send them to Patti to give you. Thanks....
MrJBolt: Oh my, I should remember..Scottish tunes.....I'm concentrating here.....
ShAronMEC: Scotland the Brave?
MrJBolt: Scotland the Brave. Any of the Highland songs.
Blu Skiiz: What other kinds of music or musical artists to you enjoy, Robert?
MaryAliceHurd: You're on...I'll do a mixture of marches, ballads, etc...
SMED4: Carol Anne, I want a copy too.
MaryAliceHurd: I've stopped buying Iams cat food because your mellifluous voice is no longer on their ads.
MrJBolt: I love Opera.
NEA WOOD: I would do the same, had I a pet to buy or not buy for! :-)
MKBAUGHAN: I bet your cat is unhappy.
Laskye: My cat still eats only IAMS. :-)
Blu Skiiz: I'm sure it would make someone buy it that doesn't even own a pet! :-)
MaryAliceHurd: Okay, Kim, I'll send you a copy of the tape, too, and I think I owe one to Henry Beckman too.
MrJBolt: Anywhere from Mozart to Hayden.I am in love with the classical composers. The romantic.
MrJBolt: I like jazz.
MaryAliceHurd: What about Gilbert & Sullivan? Please say yes...
SMED4: Bach and Mozart are my favorite classical composers.
MrJBolt: Benny Goodman. Fats Waller.
NEA WOOD: Ah! Great taste.
DSoucie: Big Band....nice.
ShAronMEC: From Mozart to Fats...
MKBAUGHAN: I like Benny Goodman.
Laskye: I love Big Band music too, and Swing.
MrJBolt: Yes, to Gilbert & Sullivan!
Blu Skiiz: Wonderful answers, Robert...you have class! :-)
MaryAliceHurd: Oh, joy, oh rapture!
BUC252: My favorite is Linda Ronstadt's work with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. Wonderful Big Band sound.ShAronMEC: Have you been to the Edinburgh Festival, Mr. B?
BUC252: Do you have any pets, Robert?
MrJBolt: Yes, a lovely silky terrier name Expresso.
DSoucie: Cool name.
BUC252: Oh, cute!
MaryAliceHurd: No kitties in the Brown house?
Blu Skiiz: Oh, they are so cute! What an adorable name!
MrJBolt: And Grigia, which is the Italian word for gray. She is a Russian Blue and is 18 years old.
ShAronMEC: Hang in there Grigia!
MrJBolt: Grigia is a kitty.
Blu Skiiz: Those are pretty cats, too!
MaryAliceHurd: And obviously a dear friend.
Laskye: Do your pets eat IAMS?
Redrose th: That is wonderful.
MrJBolt: Yes, my pets eat Iams. I was loyal to my master.
Redrose th, Laskye, DSoucie: LOL
MaryAliceHurd: I'll be loyal to Iams again once I hear your voice speaking for them again...
SMED4: I was a vet tech for years and IAMS is a great diet.
Darmryan: Do you sing Robert?
MrJBolt: I sing in the shower.
Carousel F: Wonderful acoustics.
NEA WOOD: Would you ever consider doing a voice chat, Robert?
Blu Skiiz: Do you have one memory that really stands out about the filming of HCTB of any of the people you worked with?
MrJBolt: Just one memory?
Blu Skiiz: Oh, as many as you want! :-)
MrJBolt: Please expand on the question. I have lots and lots of thoughts on HCTB.
ShAronMEC: Share them all.....please.
NEA WOOD: Yes, please.
DSoucie: Did you ever get hurt playing Jason???
Blu Skiiz: Oh my...something funny to start off with perhaps?
MaryAliceHurd: Tell us as many favourite memories as you have and want to tell, please.
MrJBolt: Hurt? Yes.
SMED4: We live for tidbits of our favorite show.
MrJBolt: While running for the telephone to do an interview during the pilot, I tripped on a cable and twisted all of the ligaments in my ankle.
Blu Skiiz, Carousel F, Darmryan: Ouch!
JHSIESS: Youch.
DSoucie: Ouch... Ouch!
Laskye: Ooooh, not good.
MrJBolt: It was about to sink the whole show and we didn't have enough for the first episode.
Blu Skiiz: That had to hurt!
MKBAUGHAN: Bet that was a nice shade of purple
MrJBolt: But a great Doctor saved me, and the stunt man did the rest of the work.
ShAronMEC: Is that how David Soul broke his arm? That has been one mystery we'd like solved.
Redrose th: Good.
Darmryan: We are all grateful to that Dr.
Blu Skiiz: You were excited to do that interview, huh? LOL!
JHSIESS: That Dr. is a saint.
BUC252: David barely remembers that broken arm now. LOL
ShAronMEC: A mystery forever huh?
Blu Skiiz: I never noticed you limping in any episodes, so they did a good job!
Blu Skiiz: Do you have any funny things that happened, such as bloopers or practical jokes?
MKBAUGHAN: Laurie, I think there is a show title in there somewhere.
Blu Skiiz: LOL, Marsha! :-)
MrJBolt: I don't remember how David broke his arm.
ShAronMEC: So did you really save Bridget's marriage by sending her
marriage license? I read that.ShAronMEC: Do you have coyote problems up there in the wilds of Ojai?
SMED4: Do you have a favorite or particularly memorable moment on HCTB?
MrJBolt: Yes, Bridget Hanley was always falling down in the middle of a scene. She would disappear out of the frame, and we would look around wondering where she was!
ShAronMEC, NEA WOOD, SMED4, Blu Skiiz, DSoucie, Carousel F: LOL
NEA WOOD: Those outtakes must have been funny.
Blu Skiiz: I sure can identify with her! :-)
MrJBolt: I always enjoyed our days. Fred Jackman was the camera man.
ShAronMEC: She didn't fall down once in A Christmas Carol. She was wonderful.
MrJBolt: He enjoyed our good humor.
SMED4: Do you happen to know how we can get those outtakes?
MrJBolt: If we wasted time, he helped us catch up at the end of the day so we were not under any pressure to catch up. It was a joyous set.
Laskye: That's great to hear.
Blu Skiiz: Oh, how wonderful!
MrJBolt: Since I was the only name above the title they listened to me.
NEA WOOD: As well they should have! :-)
MrJBolt: They saved the outtakes until the end of the season and showed the films at the wrap party.
MrJBolt: They were not mine to keep, they belonged to the producer.
Blu Skiiz: They must have been so much fun to see -- we'd all die to see those!
Laskye: I have 12 episodes on 16mm film, but haven't had them all transferred yet. Do you have any reels?
SMED4: Most of us would absolutely die to get see those outtakes.
MKBAUGHAN: Would that be Paul Junger Witt, Robert?
MaryAliceHurd: Do you know where we might be able to find out the actual order in which the episodes were filmed , opposed to the order in which they were aired?
MKBAUGHAN: I thought the order was in the story lines that some of us have.
NEA WOOD: Was the rest of the one hour later made into the "After A Dream Comes Morning" episode?
MrJBolt: They were aired in the order they were filmed. The pilot was not filmed as a two-hour pilot. It was one hour only.
NEA WOOD: Oh, I see you said "not." Never mind!
Darmryan: Do you have a favorite episode?
SMED4: Or a favorite moment?
BUC252: Who in the cast made the most mistakes in their lines? Was one more susceptible to it than the rest?
MrJBolt: I made the most mistakes in my lines, on purpose. Marlon Brando told me that he didn't study the lines, he got an overall feeling of what the intention of the scene was about. Then, in the morning, while in makeup, when you knew which scene you were doing, you would work on the lines so you wouldn't polish the dialog too carefully. When on camera, in the middle of the scene you may look away while you wonder...........thinking about something..... and the audience thinks I'm in character. Whereas I am really thinking about my next line.
DSoucie: Did you use the Stanislavsky method like Brando?
ORRY MAIN: lol The audience is an easy sell :}
MKBAUGHAN: So that's why Jason seemed to ponder things so often.
MrJBolt: So, it kept me free to invent.
SMED4: Well, whatever you did, Robert, it sure came out great!
ShAronMEC: I'm not telling this to my drama students, Mr. B. They don't like memorizing lines as it is. LOL
Blu Skiiz: How much earlier was the pilot filmed than the rest? It appears to be much earlier.
MrJBolt: The pilot and After a Dream were filmed at different times.
SMED4: Really? I also thought they were back to back
NEA WOOD: Yeah, it looked like it.
MaryAliceHurd: That back to back may have been 6 or so months apart, while the pilot was shopped around ...
MaryAliceHurd: Mr. Brown, to what Scottish clan(s) do you belong? Which of your parents was Scottish?
MrJBolt: MacKenzie. My mother was Scottish.
MaryAliceHurd: Ach! The charming ones, I should have known!
MaryAliceHurd: Hey, Kim, now when you make your Jason doll, you'll have to put him in a MacKenzie kilt!
Laskye: I recently met a man in Malibu who told me that the "Ship" was now in San Fan., CA. Do you know if that is true?
ShAronMEC: I heard it sank.
NEA WOOD: You mean Clancey's ship, right, Susie?
BSFCPres: Bridget H told me it sank.
DSoucie: Yes.
SMED4: I'd love to see that ship-not-a-boat.
MKBAUGHAN: Me too.
Blu Skiiz: Awww, how sad!
Laskye: Yes, it did sink, but the guy told me it was raised and now is in SF.
NEA WOOD: Oh! I'd love to see it then.
Laskye: Yes, the ship from the Pilot.
ShAronMEC: Did they say WHERE in SF it was? Above or below water? LOL
BSFCPres: Great...another shrine.
SMED4: We need an HCTB museum.
MaryAliceHurd: I have one, thank you!
MKBAUGHAN: Now they'll be planning the GT for next year in San Francisco!
Laskye: Yes, I have the address and phone number. He said it was called "Sailing Ship Restaurant"
ShAronMEC: Mr. B what other memories do you have of HCTB?
JHSIESS: Great. That's 90 min. from me, so I can go!! :-)
MKBAUGHAN: 3000 miles too far for me.
Laskye: Pier 42 and Embarcadero, he said.
MaryAliceHurd: Ohmigosh, then I've EATEN on "the" ship!
Laskye: (So you've eaten at the "Ship" in SF?)
Blu Skiiz: Robert, do you stay in touch with cast, crew or others from HCTB days?
ShAronMEC: Could you tell us something about working with Joan Blondell? What a legend!
MrJBolt: Joan Blondell is a great memory.
MKBAUGHAN: She was a great actress.
MaryAliceHurd: She is for us, too!
MrJBolt: "Robert" she said one day, "What car should I buy? My car broke down."
SMED4: Oh, tell us more about Joan please.
Blu Skiiz: Do you have stories about Joan, Robert?
MrJBolt: I answered, "Buy a Volvo, they are safe." She asked me to find out the nearest sales room. I did, called, ordered the car and it was delivered to her the next day. She was thrilled.
ORRY MAIN: oh ... can you do that for me? :}
MrJBolt: That evening after work we were both interviewed.
Blu Skiiz: Oh wow! So "Lottie" really did ask "Jason" for advice! :-)
MrJBolt: When asked about the car, she said "Oh yes, I know, it's a vulva!"
DSoucie, Blu Skiiz, ORRY MAIN, Laskye, SMED4: LOL
BUC252: ROFLMAO!!
MKBAUGHAN: :-)
Carousel F: ROFL
ShAronMEC: What a woman!
MrJBolt: The lady writing the article screamed with laughter and that was the end of the interview.
Darmryan: How funny.
ORRY MAIN: lol
SMED4: hee hee
MKBAUGHAN: No where to go from there.
MaryAliceHurd: Yikes! ROLFLMAO!!!
ShAronMEC: I bet.
MrJBolt: Yes, what a woman!
Blu Skiiz: Poor Joan...did she realize what she'd said?! :-)
JHSIESS: That's hysterical.
ShAronMEC: She and Henry had such great chemistry.
MrJBolt: When I met Jimmy Cagney many years later, I told him how close Joanie and I were.
Darmryan: Yes they sure did.
SMED4: You all, as a crew, had great chemistry!
MaryAliceHurd: Cagney was so great...he loved her too, didn't he?
MrJBolt: That she spoke often of her days at Warner Brothers, with Cagney and Bogart.
Blu Skiiz: The best cast -- none could be replaced in my eyes.
ShAronMEC: She must have known everyone in Hollywood.
MrJBolt: That information made him nervously look in the direction of his wife.
ShAronMEC: Oh my!
ORRY MAIN, DSoucie: LOL
Blu Skiiz: Oh!
JHSIESS: Oops
Darmryan: Oh dear!
MrJBolt: He then said to me "If I were you, I'd give whatever Joan Blondell said about me a wide berth!"
SMED4: uh oh.
ShAronMEC: She was married to Dick Powell right?
Blu Skiiz: Maybe he was afraid you'd know something and spill the beans! :-)
MrJBolt: Yes, she was married to Dick Powell. She was married to the same man that Elizabeth Taylor was married too.
SMED4: She was also married to Mike Todd, eh?
Carousel F: Which one?
ShAronMEC: Wow!
ORRY MAIN: lol which one?
MrJBolt: Mike Todd. Her first husband was a camera man.
JHSIESS: I didn't know that.
Blu Skiiz: How many times was she married?
ShAronMEC: She must have had a lot of stories to share.
SMED4: Wish she was still here.
BUC252: Is it true that you took David (Soul) to his wedding? I think I heard that.
MrJBolt: Yes, I took David to his wedding in Florida. We took the red-eye after work.
BUC252: Bet he was nervous, huh?
MaryAliceHurd: And bought him his wedding suit, so I hear?
MrJBolt: When were arrived his luggage was lost with his wedding suit.
SMED4: The wedding when he married Karen Carlson?
MrJBolt: Because I was a highly paid star of the show and he wasn't paid very much, I paid for the suit.
Blu Skiiz: Oh man! What a bad time to lose luggage!
MKBAUGHAN: Which of David's weddings is this?
Blu Skiiz: You are a true friend!
MrJBolt: Yes, Karen Carlson met David because of me.
BUC252: That was very sweet of you, and I'm sure he was immensely grateful to have such a friend.
SMED4: Really? We would sure love to meet her and the other "brides"
Laskye: I love watching Karen Carlson on In The Heat Of The Night too. :-)
ShAronMEC: Did David and Bobby sing a lot on the set in between takes?
BUC252: Whose idea was it to have them sing together in the Christmas episode?
MrJBolt: On occasion David and Bobby sang on the set. David sang more than Bobby. Bobby was not as extroverted as David. Bobby was professional.
MaryAliceHurd: That Christmas song of theirs is what opens up my computer everyday!
ShAronMEC: Did you sing with them? We love your voice in the Hosanna episode.
BUC252: David is very naturally musical, I think. He didn't even have to look while he played the guitar! <g> (I, with no instrumental talent, admired that.)
MrJBolt: Some smart guy that thought it would be good for business had them sing in the Christmas episode.
MaryAliceHurd: Some VERY smart guy!
ShAronMEC: It worked.
SMED4: I love that episode.
Blu Skiiz: They sounded so good together...nice harmony.
ORRY MAIN: lol We liked it ... not you?
BUC252: Considering how show business was back then, I'm surprised they didn't have them in the studio together the next day cutting an album.
Laskye: I liked them singing together in the Christmas episode too.
MaryAliceHurd: That Christmas episode was the only Christmas I had at all during the 7 dark years of my stepfather's reign...I hope you realize, Mr. B., how much and how deeply you've touched all of our lives.
Blu Skiiz: Are you still in touch with David, or any of the other cast/crew?
SMED4: Steve Lodge, one of your costumers, has joined our group.
MrJBolt: Oh Steve Lodge, I kinda remember the name. Say hello to Steve.
SMED4: I will say Hi to Steve for you
ShAronMEC: Did you enjoy working with the child actors?
MrJBolt: Thank you very much for listening to the mad recollections of this aging juvenile. So long, for now!
BUC252: You're neither!
DSoucie: We thank you for sharing.....
SMED4: LOL, we can't get enough of HCTB
Blu Skiiz: Anytime, Robert! We love it!
Darmryan: This was a true pleasure sir!
NEA WOOD: Thank you.
