EVERYTHING BUT A RUBBER DUCKY Primus, a new syndicated series being seen on some 95 stations around the country, is the first underwater adventure series since Sea Hunt, and it's a good deal more sophisticated. Sea hunt had little more than Lloyd Bridges and lots of water. Whereas Carter Primus, played by Robert Brown of Here Come the Brides is the very model of a modern underwater trouble-shooter. At left, that mushroom-like thing is Big Kate, Primus's underwater robot, which can dig into the ocean floor, plant explosives, winch up smuggled contraband and even catch a lobster for supper all by itself.

At right: trapped in a submarine net by a baddie, Primus lets loose a yellow dye marker to alert a comrade waiting at the surface. Bottom right: for fast travel Primus depends on his sea sled. James Bond should have had it so good.
