This site is devoted to my 2002 Yamaha Midnight Star.

My name is Loren Cole, born in 1953. My nickname, for purposes of my biker identity, is NiteStar. The motorcycle is a 2002 Yamaha Road Star; the specific model being the Midnight Star. My home is in Snohomish, Washington, which is located 35 miles northeast of Seattle, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I bought my motorcycle on July 3rd, 2002. This bike has had an effect like no other I've ridden. Everytime I leave it in the garage, I always have to turn around and give it one last look. While riding, it has what we call "the grin factor". You just can't get that silly grin off your face. A lot of it has to do with the 1602cc, 98-cubic-inch, air-cooled, pushrod OHV, 48° V-twin engine with 100 ft/lbs of torque. This motor has a deep, satisfying rumble as it pulses beneath you.

The one drawback to owning a Road Star is that you get the irresistable urge for accessories and MORE CHROME, so if you are considering one, be forewarned. Watch that credit card!

Sadly, Rhoda no longer is in my possession. I crashed her on the night of August 2nd, 2005. The insurance company decided it would be best to consider her "totalled.
I got off pretty good myself, all things considered. Badly broken right ring finger, a compression fracture of my T12 vertebra, and various minor cuts, scrapes and contusions.
I'll be in the market for another Road Star one of these days, so definitely plan on getting "back in the saddle".
