Why Area Coordinators are Vital to Field Operations
From The Field:
"Ten years ago, as a network engineer, I didn't think any mission could use my skills. Now I am learning about and implementing state-of-the-art technologies such as ADSL, wireless networking, and VSAT on the field and helping translators to be more productive." - Chris Hecht, Manager, Network Services, Papua New Guinea

"When I read James in our language... it is clear for believers what path they should take when they have troubles. It is also valuable for me in teaching my children." - Lisa, Indonesia

"Here in East Africa, our IT staff is challenged to keep a wide variety of computers and servers running. We welcome experienced IT professionals to help support Bible translation in Nairobi with wide-open hands!" - Paul Merrill, Regional Services Director, Nairobi, Kenya

I've been a pastor for twenty years. All these years I've used the local trade language Bible, not fully understanding. It was like reading in moonlight. But now, reading this in my language is like bright sunlight." Pastor, East Asia

Take 59 - 11/15/06: PNG VSAT

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done" (Philippians 4:6, NLT).

Papua New Guinea Branch struggled for years with a poor Internet connection. The national telecommunications entity had been unable to increase their bandwidth due to lack of equipment and satellite channels. Also, there are legal restrictions on direct satellite links. Extensive negotiations to upgrade to a VSAT* connection had been ongoing since May. After many delays, suddenly in late September, permission was granted and their VSAT connection is now up and running at Ukarumpa! They are experiencing a big improvement in the speed and reliability. "Thank you to all who have prayed for our situation." ---PNG staff member

Give praise and thanks to God for His intervention in the situation and for the very rapid implementation after permission was granted.
