THE VOYAGE OF RUBY RED

Our vessel was Ruby Red, a 32' Benteau.    We had a tentative plan for which islands we would visit.  We purchased charts before we left and planned to draw out our course; had we done that we might have been prepared for Surprise #6:  all the islands are within 5-8 miles of each other (translation: only 2-3 hour sail).

The crossing between Border Island and Hayman Island was a little unpleasant but only if you consider 25 knot winds, 6 foot swells, and going 5 knots with 2 reefs in the main unpleasant.  John thought it was challenging and exciting.  Tanya thought it was the Perfect Storm and they were going to die.

Other than that it was a great week with beautiful scenery, sunrises and sunsets.
