We encountered rainforest further north. We took a gondola one-way/train return trip to the village of Kundara
and drove to Mossman Gorge and Daintree Village outside of Port Douglas.
Surprise #2: Between the saltwater and freshwater varieties we expected crocodiles
at every turn. We saw the back end of one on a Daintree river cruise and he didn't even notice us.
