EXAMPLES OF WORK EXPERIENCE OBJECTIVES

 

These are examples of Pink Sheet Work Experience Objectives.  Your own objectives will be based on your Work Experience placement and will be individualized by your supervisor.  Your Work Experience Objectives will be reviewed by your Work Experience Instructor.

Objectives

1. WHAT?

I will lead six Life Skills groups under the supervision of my supervisor.

HOW?

I will put together lesson plans approved by my supervisor.  I will teach the approved Life Skills class to my client group.

2. WHAT?

I will conduct six orientation groups to teach clients important/ rules information about the program about the program they are entering.

HOW?

I will conduct approved curriculum on orientation to the program as assessed by my supervisor.

 3.  WHAT?

I will record daily information on at least four clients; noting daily process towards treatment goals.

HOW?

I will chart on each client to access their participation in assigned group and classes.  Charting will be supervised weekly by my supervisor.

3.  WHAT?

I will colead three group counseling sessions on Relapse Presentation, Mental illness and Substance Abuse, and Triggers.   (Pick specific counseling topics based on your work site – discuss with your supervisor before submitting paperwork)

HOW?

I will colead three group counseling sessions on my own.  I will lead one per week and my group leadership skills and ability to lead group topic will be monitored by my group leader.

4. WHAT?

I will do at least four intakes assessing the client’s drug and alcohol use severity and past treatment attempts.   

HOW?

By asking questions on the Alcohol Severity Index and by questioning the client about past treatment.  I will then enter information in the intake form which will be assessed by my supervisor.

 

 

5.  WHAT?

I will co-facilitate four anger management groups.

HOW?

I will co-facilitate four anger management groups with an experienced group leader.  I will be assessed by the group leader and my supervisor regarding my facilitation skills.       

6.  WHAT?

I will facilitate six group sessions addressing the following subjects: anger management, triggers, 12 step program, family dynamics, domestic violence, and replase prevention (other topics, as needed by your work site can substitute here).  

HOW?

I will lead group sessions with my supervisor present and then discuss with supervisor.  Supervisor will provide feedback to me.  

7.  WHAT?

I will answer incoming calls and refer ten clients to the appropriate services outside our agency. I will refer to services including __________________ as needed by client.  (Social services, homeless assistance agencies, domestic violence, substance abuse etc.)

HOW?  I will take client history and use the agency’s list of approved services to refer.  My referrals will then be assessed by my supervisor.

8.  WHAT?

I will lead six women’s issue groups under the direction of my supervisor.  I will lead the groups on the following topics: Dual diagnosis, Life skills, Domestic Violence, Child Care Issues, Parenting, etc.

HOW?

I will lead one group per week covering women’s issues and specific topics with my supervisor present to give me feedback and assess my group skills.

 

 

 

9. WHAT?

I will lead five Life Skills groups under the direction of my supervisor. The Life Skills groups will cover the following topics:  Examples - Hygiene, Food shopping and preparation, money management etc.

HOW?

I will attend five Life Skills groups held by an experienced counselor addressing the following topics:____________________.  I will then hold five Life Skills Groups as leader.  My supervisor will assess my group leading skills and provide feedback. 

WHAT?

10.  I will attend at least eight 12 step meetings, with two different addiction populations.  I will process the information and discuss with my with my supervisor.   This objective is to gain knowledge of the 12 Step Programs.  

HOW?

 I will attend five AA groups and five CA groups as assigned by my supervisor.  I will submit proof of attendance to my supervisor and discuss the meetings with my supervisor.

 11. WHAT?

I will facilitate three addiction treatment related group meetings.  I will lead discussion of issues regarding maintenance of sobriety and the challenges.  This goal will be monitored by my supervisor

HOW?

By facilitating one meeting per week with my supervisor in attendance.  My supervisor will assess my facilitation skills.

12. WHAT? 

I will conduct five individual counseling sessions on _____________drug and alcohol issues.  I will conduct one per week and discuss with my supervisor for feedback and assessment.  

HOW?

By meeting with an individual client assigned to me and discussing issues regarding drug and alcohol prevention, employment problems, family issues.  My supervisor will monitor and provide guidelines for me to follow.

13. WHAT?

 I will watch ten educational/ teaching videos on Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment as assigned by my supervisor.  I will then be assessed after each video by my supervisor to rate my knowledge of the assigned material. 

HOW?

I will watch one instructional videos each day and take notes on material presented.  I will discuss videos with my supervisor and be assessed on my knowledge of each video.

14. WHAT?

  I will complete five new intakes using applicable instruments and questionnaires regarding ___________ Examples:  drug and alcohol usage, prior treatments, living situation, and financial stability etc.

HOW?

By meeting with the client and filling out the required agency intake forms. The intake forms will then be assessed by my supervisor regarding completeness and correct information.

15. WHAT? 

I am going to do five intake Interviews in a   Domestic Violence / or ____________ situation by discussing with the client the circumstances of the crisis and referring to proper agency services. 

HOW?

By meeting with the client and finding out about their particular situation.  I will use specific guidelines set by my agency to refer client to proper resources.  This will be assessed by my supervisor.

16. WHAT?

My objective is to properly refer twelve clients to community services as necessary and appropriate according to my agency guidelines. (Choose type of services)

HOW?

I will work with an experienced coordinator to gain the knowledge to properly make referrals.  I will then make twelve referrals which will be assessed by my supervisor as to following agency guidelines.

17. WHAT?

My objective is to complete information for twelve clients into the Homeless Management Information System applications for at least four homeless clients into computerized data bank.

HOW?

Gather information from clients and put into computerized data bank.  My supervisor will review and provide feedback and assess my completion of the correct information.

18.  WHAT?

I will lead school age children in three different recreational activities.  I will complete Lesson Plan as directed by my supervisor.

HOW?

I will hold activities with my supervisor present.  My supervisor will then rate my ability to provide and facilitate recreational activities.
