Is your land posted?
Yes. Only paying guests are permitted to hunt on Smedley's Mountain Retreat.
___________________________________________What are your rates?
$500/week, $350/weekend per hunter. Hunting rights on the property are exclusively reserved for the paying guests. Rates are subject to change.
___________________________________________Is there a minimum group size?
We prefer hosting parties of six or more hunters, and provide exclusive hunting rights only to these larger groups. Although we welcome smaller groups, or individual hunters, you may or may not find yourself compatible with the other hunters who would be sharing the lodge with you that week. ___________________________________________Do you offer a day trip rate?
No. A stay at the hunting lodge is part of a package deal.
___________________________________________Do you require a deposit?
A non-refundable deposit of 25% per person will secure the time slot agreed upon.
___________________________________________Can your guests reach the Jefferson National Forest?
Yes. The northern boundary of this property is contiguous with the Jefferson National Forest. You can get there on foot or by ATV.
___________________________________________Can we use ATVs during hunting season?
Only during daylight hours, and only if all members of your party are in agreement.
___________________________________________Do you have an alcohol policy?
Alcohol does not mix with gunpowder or gasoline. Drinking adult beverages is discouraged until weapons are secured after hunting hours.
___________________________________________Do we need to bring our own linens?
Only if you want to. We can provide basic linens for $10 / person. Some guests prefer sleeping bags.
___________________________________________Do you have dusk-to-dawn lights on your property?
No. If you get nervous away from artificial lights, stay in the city. If you enjoy a starry sky, we conserve ours for your pleasure.
