I married my wife in Jan. 2008 - We weren't even moved in good into our apartment, when I came home from work and she was bawling her eyes out... watching the tv with the cows being shoved by bulldozers and forklifts.

We both were really shocked and didn't know that's how the treated cows at slaughterhouses. She went online and we both saw at HSUS all the information about it and lots more that we never suspected.

After that she wouldn't eat meat - or cheese or much of anything that came from an animal. Since she did all the cooking and shopping guess I just sort of fell "in line" too. Can't say I blamed her, it was all pretty disgusting. I ate pretty much what everyone else did at work until this March... I really don't care now about taking a ribbing from the guys at work - cuz the more I'm finding out about the sh*t they put in the crap they sell - God... I never realized... even soap has dead cats and dogs in it. Really gross. I just don't want to use the stuff anymore and my wife doesn't buy it either. And it really sucks what they do to the animals too - I didn't know it was like that for them. I guess I was just as blind as everyone else seems to be about being inhuman to them.

We're no animal rights people... like we don't picket or anything - but we just don't think it's good to use or kill animals anymore - for anything. And we don't. So I guess that makes us vegans. And that's the story. Thank you.
