PARENTS – With summer almost here and our May meeting being the last meeting until August, there are a lot of items we need to talk about. I would appreciate at least one parent per family being at the May meeting so we can review the calendar and make sure everyone has an opportunity to sign up for some of the fun events planned.

Summer Happenings for Hudson Ag

Don’t forget to Sign Up at the May Meeting!

Wildlife Garden  Maintenance – We need every family to sign up for one week in the summer to help maintain the wildlife garden by weeding and watering.

SCAVENGER HUNT – This is an annual community service food drive, run by the 4H Federation.  In past years we have collected HUNDREDS of items in just a few hours. The date was delayed this year, from January until now. We will discuss our involvement this year and whether we can arrange to do this in the month of May.

Prairie Days

Float – Being the world class float builders that we are, we need people to help design the float and then to build it, not to mention riding on it

Tattoo and Face Painting Table – Hudson Ag was once again asked to run the tattoo and face painting table On Saturday afternoon at Prairie Days.  Please sign up for an hour shift and help out.

Soft Ball Tournament  - Hudson Ag sponsors this County Wide 4H Softball tournament every year.  No special skills needed except having a good time.

This year our own Jamie O’Grady has volunteered to coordinate this event and make it bigger and better! Hope you can all make it. If you’d like to help chair this event, talk to Laurie or Jamie.

Club Booth and Club Picnic – We need a design team for the Club Booth and everyone needs to mark Sunday, July 26th for an afternoon putting together the Club Booth for the Fair, and then a cook-out with fishing and fun at Peterson’s Pond.

THE FAIR!

4H Olympic Coach – Great job for an older member or an energetic parent.  Job Description includes having fun and cheering on the greatest 4H Olympics team there ever was.

Shake Volunteer Day for all – We have chosen a two hour shift on Thursday afternoon for our club to cover the 4H Concrete Shake Booth at the Fair. Please sign up. Parents, we need you, too. And the best part is, you get a free Shake when your shift is done

RECORDS and check pick up – NO Sign up for this, just mark it on your calendar. Completed project records (in their folder) need to be turned in to Laurie by August 23rd. I will have Fair Premium Checks available to pick up at the same time.

Sewing

Those of you who are working on your stuffed animals with Laurie need to try to plan on coming to her house at least 4 of the scheduled dates to have it finished in time for the fair.

Small Engines = If you have any interest in some free small engines (working and not) call John Hurt at 726-1078. THIS IS A FAIR PROJECT!

If you did not make it to any of the volunteer screenings it is VERY IMPORTANT that before you enroll next year as a volunteer you make sure you get the schedule for screenings for this fall. This is a required part of the volunteer leader commitment
