NEW MEMBER CLASS
On
Thursday, November 10th new members are invited to an information
class at the Hudson Town Hall. We will be revieiwn the 4-H Year, registration,
projects, project records, Fair Registration, community service, other
projects, Standards of Excellence etc.
The
intent is to give the new member and their parents a solid foundation on how 4H
works and all the FUN stuff we do! If you are a 4H family already you might not
find a need to come to this. I would recommend it for all new 4H members whose
family does not have a 4H background.
6:30 – 7:30
SIGNUPS AT NOVEMBER MEETING
Parents Night
Out – Details
at the meeting. We need helpers for this event. Usually have about 20 little
rascals that we watch for a few hours while mom and dad do some last minute
shopping. All 4-H Members welcome. Some to help, some to just enjoy the
evening.
Salvation Army
Bell Ringing – We’re taking over Wal-Mart for an entire day. Both doors, all
shifts.
Anyone under 16
will need to be signed up with an adult. We can have teams sign up for the
shifts.
This is a FUN
community service. Wear your Santa hats! This is Saturday, December 3rd.
We will have two hour shifts from 10 to 8 on both bells.
Workshops
PARENTS and TALENTED 4Hers - We’ll have a list of
workshop ideas out. We could use volunteers to teach these workshops. Or if you
have a skill not listed you’d like to pass on to our members, add it to the
list.
Workshops
will be held in January and March. Most workshops are project related. (and a
small one this month for a Love Basket project)
LOVE BASKETS
We
have been asked by the Love Basket committee to rpvoide support in the
following ways:
Help on the 17th to
pack boxes
To help deliver some of the
baskets
And this year, they have asked
us to put together baskets for the 8 Hudson residents who are in Nursing Homes.
We
will set up a workshop to make a craft and careds, and then purchase other
items to go in the baskets. We will accept cash donations or the following
items if you wish to help out with this project:
1)
Christmas Music CDs
2)
Hand Lotions, Personal Hygiene Items
3)
Sugarless Candies (small packages)
4)
Warm socks or Slipper SOcks
(Male or Female)
5)
Any other item appropriate for a nursing home resident basket
You may bring them to the meeting next week.
FUNd-raising ideas – We
would like to see if we can raise a little bit of additional money this year to
fund a Raptor Program for March. Any ideas? Let Laurie know.
Thank you Corner
CAMPING – WOW!
We’re
you there? Just about everyone was! Even the Mackinaw Man! We had 40 overnight
campers with about 15 others who spent most of the evening with us. Great
weather, good kids, food was pretty good –(sorry about the egg problem Dan and
Jacob!) Some great looking pumpkin carvings.
