Camping…..

Everybody finally warm again? It was cold, but it was fun!

       39 campers

       55 for dinner

       And 31 degrees…..

Hope everyone had a good time. I did!

Thank you, to all the parents who helped with dinner and a special thanks to all those who spent the night with us.

Sleigh Bells Ring……

Ring the Bells…….

Silver Bells ……

Yes, it’s that time of year again! Hudson Ag has signed up for eight shifts for ringing the Salvation Army Bells this holiday season.

Each shift is 2 hours.  Bring a friend, (bring a parent if you’re 15 or younger), bring the family. Bring music – dress in your holiday clothes – whatever!

We’ll be at Cubs this year – which means it’s inside – Yeah!

Dates are Saturday Dec 2 and Dec 9

            Shifts are 10, Noon, 2 and 4.

If you can’t do an entire shift – we can probably split some of them to an hour if necessary.

It’s a great time and it certainly is a simple way to help our community.

Sign up at the next 4H meeting!

NEW MEMBER REGISTRATION

Ready to join Hudson Ag? It’s a pretty simple process. If you did not pick up a new member packet, please make sure you do so at the next meeting, or at least pick up a Clover Magazine, and the two enrollment forms (one white and one green).

The white form gets you enrolled in 4-H. Once you are enrolled you will received regular newsletters and mailings from the County Extension Office, which is the leadership group for 4-H.

At the same time you enroll in the club, you also sign up for any of the projects areas that you might be interested in trying. Just because you sign up for a fair project, does not mean you have to do it. By signing up for a project area, you will receive workbooks from the Extension on the project area and see what types of projects you could do for the fair. Then if you decide you don’t want to try it, or don’t have the time, you just won’t sign up in June to actually take the project to the fair.

I recommend that new members sign up for as many project areas as they might have an interest in. You can always drop the project before the fair. You CANNOT add project areas if you have not enrolled for them by May 1.

I always recommend that new members sign up for at least the following:

Visual Arts

Aerospace

Read A Book

One of the Food and Nutrition choices

This year I recommend ALL Hudson Ag members sign up for one of the levels of Electricity. We will be offering multiple workshops and program on electricity throughout the year. If unsure of which, please sign up for Electricity 1. We can always jump you up to a higher level for the Fair.

Here is the electricity link that Chris talked about at our October meeting.

Please try to turn in your registration forms in November. At the very latest, in December. And as always, please feel free to talk to Laurie Peterson or one of the Adult Leaders if you have questions.

Parents Night Out

Come one; come all for Parents Night Out on Tuesday, December 12th.

Here’s the scoop.

If you’re old enough to baby-sit, you’re old enough to help. Fun and games and a free meal for you. (ages 12 and up) Please sign up to be a helper at the next meeting. We need quite a few helpers, as we usually have about 30 kids.

If you would like to come but you’re not quite old enough to be considered a helper, we still would love to have you join us!
