Earth Day NIGHT

T-Shirts
Please make sure
you pick up your t-shirt at the March meeting!
As a 4H member you should wear your t-shirts any time we have public
activities, such as our earth day programs, the fair, etc.
Earth Activities – SIGN UP NOW!
If you didn’t sign up for Earth Day Activities at the
February, please make sure you contact me to sign up for some of them, or make
it to the March meeting to sign up. I would like to see EVERY Hudson Ag 4H
member to be signed up for at least one of the activities, if not more than
that.
So far, we have:
Saturday
April 5th
Community
Paper Drive – 9 to Noon
We need a parent or older member to consider heading
this up. We will need flyers out in March locally, a place for people to drop
off their newspaper on the 5th and then enough transportation to
carry it to the recycling place. We should also have a scale there so we can
weigh it and track it as we go.
We will need
members to be there for all or part of the time to help take in newspaper,
track it, etc.
Earth
Day – Recycling Project – Workshops
April
5th
This is what we have to far:
9 a.m.
Newspaper
Recycle Collection Boxes.
Each member will make two. One for home, and one for us
to give away.
This is a woodcraft project.
Recycled
Garments – Clothing
We will make an article of clothing out of
recycled items.

Art
Nature Craft
– Some type of visual art project made out of natural items.

Earth
Day Activities, continued
SUNDAY
– April 13th
Garden
Clean Up and Composting 1pm to 3
We’ll be in the wildlife garden. Bring rakes, shovels,
etc. for some post-winter clean up
Trash
Trek Through Hudson – 3 to 4 pm
We will do some clean up on the roadsides of our little
community.
SATURDAY,
- April 19th
Fundraiser
for Earth Day activities and celebration
BAKE SALE 9 to 11
Looks like we already have three people to work. (Lea, Kaelynn
and Kendra)
We will need Baked Goods, too. Anything you bring needs to be
wrapped and ready for sale. Best selling items are brownies, chocolate
chip cookies, Chocolate Popcorn, Chocolate Dipped/Decorated Oreos, Small loaves
of breads.
Tuesday, April 22nd
– EARTH DAY
We will be planting a tree or two in our community. We will
meet right after school.

Is there a woodworker in your house? We will be
purchasing 1 x 2’s for our newspaper boxes. However, if you have 1 x 2s, at
least 12 inches long that you can donate, please let us know. Every dollar we
save will just go into another community service project.
Project Records
Have your turned in your fair project registration? Have you started your project records? Try to get those done! They are an important part of the fair project process!

Animal Exhibitors
Make sure you are familiar
with the new requirements for Premise IDs, weigh-ins, tattoos, and ethics
courses.
The Extension website will
get you to the proper place if you don’t have your letter anymore.
If you are not getting the
