PROJECT RECORDS
I am concerned that we did not have the time
at the April Meeting to teach and review the process of Project Records for the
New Members. I have prepared packets for all 1st and 2nd
year members. Please make sure you pick them up at the meeting. If you are
unable to be at the meeting, please call me so that we can arrange to get them
to you. This is very important if you are going to complete your Standards of
Excellence for the year.
Bring your work gloves, spades, rakes, etc and join us for a few hours of community service as we do our spring-cleaning the Hudson Ag 4-H Wildlife Garden (behind the library).
This is a great opportunity for some additional activities fort the newer 4H members. We will weed, rake, clean up and do some planting, too.
Calling all canoeists! If you’re in 7th grade or older and want to join us on the canoe trip, we will need you to sign up AND pay the $20 at the next 4H meeting.
If you would like to go but cannot go both days, you are welcome to join us for one day or the other. Depending on your plans for camping overnight or not, the cost will be $10 or $15 dollars.
FAIR STUFF
New Members – Now that you’ve registered as a
4H member, you will receive a packet in June to register for the Fair. Although
it is fairly explanatory, I’ve attached a list of names, e-mails and phone
numbers for our leaders and officers. Any of those listed will be glad to
answer your questions as you register your projects for the Fair
More FAIR STUFF:
Make sure you go through
the Fair Calendar and take note of the following:
4H Olympics
Rocket Launch (A must for our club!)
Flag Raising and Lowering
Volunteer Opportunities (Sundae Booth,
Tours,
Judge Assistants, etc)
Ethics Clinic Web Site
– Do you need to complete this requirement if you are showing livestock at
the State Fair? Check it out: http://web.aces.uiuc.edu/qaec/qaec/.
Showing a dog at the fair?
Check out the showmanship classes at the Cornbelt Kennel Club, specifically for
4h dog projects.
