.There is no way I can tell you about Isabeau in mere words. You must meet her.  Isabeau is our cornerstone, She was the first step in making Immortal Farms come to life.To say she is a horse seems a slur against her, because she is so much more than that.  She is my best friend, my confidant, and my cure for feeling blue.  I would feel lost without her. Everyone that meets her falls in love. Isabeau has blessed us with five foals. Three Friesians and two Warlanders. All of them have her wonderful forward movement and exceptional temperament. Her two Warlander filly's have never been beaten at halter, and both of them have won the Best Movement award every time they were shown.

Lilith IF
foaled April 19th 2003
FPZV reg # 112025903
sire:  Laes  reg #040006486
dam:   Isabeau  reg#040395592

After losing Xenia it was so hard to even think about another Friesian mare, we could not bring ourselves to even look.
It became obvious after a time that we needed another Friesian mare to fill out the program, so we  started searching. Then one day our trainer; Kimberly, came to us and asked if we would like to have Lilith back on the farm.
Lilith is an Isabeau filly by Laes; Xenia's sire. Since she has been Kimberly's mare from birth we never dreamed of her becoming a member of the breeding program. However there could not be a better choice. Her linage is just what we have looked for.  Isabeau is related to Xenia's dam on the maternal side, and with Laes as a sire it means that Lilith is genetically a half sister and 'cousin' to our Xenia.
Well.......considering that of course our first choice for Lilith's first pairing had to be Xenophon's sire Notorio DW.
In 2007 Lilith was  bred to Notorio DW for a spring 2008 foal. This foal will  be 3/4 sibling to our Xenophon, who can be seen on our stallion page.
What an exciting foal it will be.

This  foal is available for purchase

Isabella
FPZV reg # 112020602
sire:  Laes  reg #040006486
dam:  Falkje fan't Hiem   reg#040000693

co-owned by Aspen Valley Friesians and Immortal. Isabella has already received  preliminary Star status. She will be taking her performance test to complete her Star soon.
Not only is she beautiful with fantastic forward movement; she is also one of those 'easy' horses. She waits behind everyone else to come in, she waits for her food, she is really tidy in her stall. The most important thing is she is sweet, gentle and loves people. Her eyes seem to ask" would you please give me scratches? "
She is a wonderful mare and we are very pleased to add her to our mares.
She is currently the 'babysitter' mare. She spends her daytime turnout with Athena (Isabeau's 2007 filly) becoming her buddy.  This will make the transition to the mare herd easier on Athena when her time to join them comes.
Isabella will be bred in 2008 to Oberon  for a 2009 Drum Horse foal.
This foal will be available in-utero

Xenia

Xenia
Foaled May 11th 1999
FPZV reg# 045473699
sire Laes reg#040006486
Dam Warna (Model) 040006391
We found Xenia, in Princeton BC. We had gone to the Friesian Ranch to see their amazing stallion Laes. We were at the fence watching the yearlings eat breakfast. Xenia stopped eating and looked at us, very plainly asking "what are you here for?" Although we had planed to wait until the following year to purchase another Friesian mare, neither of us could get Xenia out of our minds. We spent the whole trip back from Princeton telling each other how we were not ready to get another mare....but with that look she gave us we had fallen in love.....we bought her two days later.  Xenia was chosen not only for her beauty, but also because she carried the blood of some of the greatest Friesian stallions in her background. We planned to breed her to Von Faust an exceptional stallion owned by Cheryl Skigin of Fox & Furkin farms. In order to establish her breeding viability we first bred her live cover to Notorio DW. Five months into the pregnancy she twisted an intestine and was rushed to surgery Xenia made it through surgery, and when she was allowed to come home everyone waited breathless while Dr. Bolton did an ultrasound. There were no dry eyes when he announced that the foal was still alive!! The following spring Xenia gave birth to an adorable colt we named I.F. Xenophon.  One week before breeding her AI to Von Faust,  we lost our Xenia when she twisted yet again this time her large intestine, and we were unable to save her with surgery. We were devastated, and poor little Xenophon was orphaned. Now our little bucket fed baby  has grown into an incredible stallion, he is the gift our Xenia left us. Through him she will always remain an Immortal horse.
