The Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel

Strobel, at one time a professional journalist, interviews experts who are recognized authorities in their own fields in order to find out if there is credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God. Very readable and highly recommended.

Evidence That Demands a Verdict, by Josh McDowell

This best selling book gives historical evidences for the Christian faith.

Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties, by Gleason L. Archer

This book examines those "problem" questions that come up regarding the Bible. An excellent resource.

Know Why You Believe, by Paul. E. Little

A "bestselling classic". Very readable and covers the basics without getting technical. A good starter for those wanting to learn about apologetics.

More Than a Carpenter, by Josh McDowell

Another very readable entry-level apologetics book.

Prayer

Mighty, Prevailing Prayer, by Wesley L. Duewel

A definitive work on intercessory prayer. Very readable.

Could You Not Tarry One Hour, by Larry Lea

A "How to do it" book on improving your prayer life. Very practical, with many useful insights.

The Ministry of Intercessory Prayer, by Andrew Murray

A classic book on intercessory prayer (praying for others). Always relevant!

Inspirational Reading

Six Hours One Friday, by Max Lucado

A wonderful volume which makes the point from Scripture that your life is not in vain, your mistakes are not fatal, and your death in not final. Highly recommended.

He Still Moves Stones, by Max Lucado

A great book that makes the point that God still does incredible miracles today.

Embraced by the Darkness, by Brad Scott
