About Us

United Methodist Women

We are the daytime extension of Smithfield UMC's United Methodist Women's Group which meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month in the Family Life Center.  The UMW's President is Ms. Kathy Jackson.

History of Our Circle

Our little circle began in October, 2007.  We meet the 2nd Monday of every month in the library/conference room at SUMC.  We also have outings once a quarter.  Previous outings include the Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens, Downtown Grapevine, Kimball Art Museum, and Thistle Hill House in Ft. Worth.

Service Projects
Our Circle has three service projects:

The Rainbow Room
CPS in Hurst has a "Rainbow Room" that helps supply children with clothing, self-care items and toys, among other things.  We go to the Rainbow Room once every 3 months to help keep it organized and stay on top of the room's inventory.

Our SUMC Shut-ins
We stay in touch with our SUMC shut-ins by sending them cards and holiday care pkgs.

Our SUMC Military
We send Holiday care packages to our troops both overseas and domestic from our church.  Thank you for your service to our country!
