About our Team

Clint Silverman, our PIC earned his commercial balloon pilot certificate in 1997, and now has 300 hours as pilot in command.

Here's Claudia Silverman, the Crew Chief of Serenity. On the ground, she is truly the "boss".  However, to fly a balloon requires lots more than a Pilot and a Crew Chief.  It truly requires a dedicated team.  We have just that team.  It consists of about 20 - 25 crew people that come out regularly or semi-regularly.  But, at the heart of our team are some truly special people, and we'd like you to know who they are.

Suzan Gutierrez has been crewing with us for several years, and now has embarked on becoming a balloon pilot herself.  She currently holds a student pilot's license, and is actively working towards obtaining her private pilot certificate.

Mike Vandenberg has been an important part of our balloon team since he joined us on the fourth anniversary of Clint's check ride (Fathers' Day, 2001).  He provides a 4x4 chase vehicle, he is an extremely versatile crew member, and he is a great photographer and 4x4 driver!  What more can you ask?  He has ballooned with us in Perris, Palm Springs, Ripon (CA central valley, near Modesto), Sonoma, Las Vegas, and Albuquerque.

Larry Vandenberg has been with us since our first balloon flight in Perris (early 1997).  At that time he was an experienced crew chief and Claudia and Clint were just starting instruction in how to handle a hot air balloon.  We were fortunate in having Larry "adopt" us early in our balloon career.

New for 2009...Liability Release Form: These are new forms. As we do every year, we update our release forms.  We now have two different forms.  The first is for adults.  If you plan to join us, even if you do not desire to fly, you MUST print, read, understand, and sign this form in order to participate with us.  If you are bringing a minor with you, you must also print, read, understand, and sign the second form.  This form must be signed by the minor's parent or guardian, not a friend, neighbor or relative. Please bring the signed forms with you.  Should you forget, we do have blank forms at the field, but GREATLY appreciate your taking this action beforehand.  Both forms are valid until the end of calendar year 2009.
