The Northern contingent of the East Coast Treehouse Gang invites all fanfiction writers and anyone interested in scriptwriting and TV production to join us in Toronto in May.

Do you want to know the secrets of writing fanfiction? Is the process of creating a successful TV series, from concept to what you see on your screen, a mystery to you? Join us on May 14 -16 and help us explore the unknown...

Friday, May 14, 2004:

Evening BBQ

(weather permitting, of course we have an in-door backup plan) for anyone who gets in early; catch-up with old friends and meet new ones;  

 

Saturday, May 15, 2004:

Fanfiction writing, script writing, beta reading

Topics:

Writing in different fanfic genres:  adventure, humour, hurt/comfort

How to develop and write realistic characters

Beta-readers -- friend or foe?

How to write a TV script

 

12:00 PM -1:00 PM Lunch

 

1:00 PM -2:30 PM 

Making a video – Demonstration

Introductory vid making:  How do I get started?

Advanced vid session:  sharing the latest techniques and equipment

 

2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Afternoon session with our special guest, Michael Sinelnikoff* - Questions and Discussion

Production discussion with Michael Sinelnikoff, using the morning's sketch script as an example

 

4:30 PM - 5:00 PM 

Fanfic awards

The three best stories of the Still Seeking Summerlee fan fic challenge are being honored.

 

7:00 PM - dinner at Jakes on Main Pub & Grille 

 

Sunday, May 16, 2004:

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Brunch - More fun and discussions for those still in town

Cost: 

To cover the meeting room costs and the meals on Friday evening, Saturday (lunch) and Sunday (brunch) attendees will have to pay $75 CDN /$60 US. The money will be collected at the event, please bring cash.

Accommodation and Saturday dinner are extra and need to be covered by the attendees themselves. For information on how to book a hotel room, please check the location page.
