The character of Arthur Summerlee left an
indelible mark on the TV show The Lost World, even though the kindly botanist was hardly seen after season one. Season two
saw him as a ghostly figure, in season three we didn’t see him at all, but it was revealed that he had his own share
of secrets and he was mentioned numerous times. Did Arthur Summerlee really die, when he fell off that bridge? Or is he still
waiting in some other sphere?
The character of Summerlee was brought to
life by Michael Sinelnikoff. He created the multi-faceted portrayal of a man who’s a skeptic at first, but who learns
that miracles do happen, as do new beginnings.
The fact that Michael played Summerlee in
two different productions—a movie and the TV show—is testament to how perfectly suited he is for the role.

Michael Sinelnikoff has an impressive body
of work, whether it’s film, TV or theater. His excellent website gives an overview of his extensive career, which spans acting, directing, producing, teaching and writing.
Michael has also been very accessible to
the TLW fan community, in chats and in person, which the fans obviously highly appreciate. Assuming no shifting plane of reality
decides otherwise (aka scheduling conflicts) we’re looking forward to spending time with Michael in Toronto in May at the Still Seeking Summerlee event.
