New! Did you know that the source material for The Lost World, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Challenger novels, are published on the Internet? You probably do, but just in case you haven't read them in a while or didn't keep a link in your favorites/bookmarks, here's the link for you.

If you are a budding fanfic writer you are not only faced with the difficult task of writing a decent plot, create convincing characters and of course using proper grammar and spelling, you also have to beware of one of the most horrific pitfalls of fanfic writing. What is it, you ask? It's the attack of evil Mary Sue, a sneaky lady who has blazed her path of destruction through many, many fics. Mary Sue and her vicious cousin Canon Sue (especially prevalent in Marguerite fics) can be battled successfully, if you know the warning signs. Ariadne found a helpful link that each fic writer needs to know. Take the test and read your fic from Mary Sues.

In the workshop we will discuss the function beta readers and how they can help the budding or experienced fanfic writer. An excellent article about the benefits of working with beta readers can be found here.

rann has spent considerable time developing a Lost World timeline. It's a great tool for writing TLW fics, especially if you are trying to weave historical events into your fic.
